Port Charlotte was one of the “25 Best Places to Retire” in 2015 according to Forbes, one of the top ten favorite retirement States in U.S. News, and number one out of 25 retirement places according to in 2009. That explains why there are over 6,000 dogs in Port Charlotte, which means there are plenty of fun for Fido when you visit.

Ready to let Fido run? Pace Park on Bayshore Drive is such an amazing park that many people there do not even have a dog. The view is exquisite, grass and trees are lush and well cared-for, and it is huge. The really unique thing (and local favorite) about this park is the exercise equipment for humans. There are over a dozen weight training machines in the park with trainers if needed. The dogs will also enjoy doggy gyms, play equipment, toys, water play, and beachfront.

Another park on Bayshore Drive is Edgewater with about three acres of fenced-in greenery, separate small/mature dog area, benches, a pavilion, water hoses, poop bags, and even a playground right outside the fence for the kids to play on. It is also well-lit for nighttime play. There is no limit to the fun Fido can have in Port Charlotte.
