Accokeek, Maryland is a town in Prince George’s County. Inhabited by Native Americans for thousands of years, Accokeek was eventually settled by the legendary John Smith in the early 1600s. You will see evidence of the area’s long history, both the good and the bad, throughout the town. Visitors and tourists can be seen taking photos of the historical markers found all over Accokeek. Who knows? Your dog may be picking up on the same scents that the First Nations village dogs were smelling thousands of years ago! Today, there are plenty of single-family homes and apartments if you are looking for a new home with your dog. Many apartments have breed restrictions in the area, so you will need to keep this in mind while searching.

Your dog has a choice of prime walking real estate throughout the area, and you are just minutes away from Piscataway Park. This park welcomes leashed dogs for walking and hiking. A harness is recommended, as are waste bags, plenty of drinking water, and a collapsible bowl to make it easier for you to carry all the essentials you need for a fun day in this massive park.
