If you’re looking for a quiet park to take your pup for a walk, head to Mason Neck State Park. Dogs are welcome on-leash in this peaceful, 1,856-acre park. Take your pup for a rugged walk on one of the park’s hiking trails. Or, go for a leisurely stroll on the park’s three miles of paved multi-use paths. Along the way, you’ll pass wetlands and ponds filled with birds and frogs. If you’re lucky, you may even see a bald eagle! You and your dog will both have a great time wandering around this beautiful and serene park.

If your pup loves taking long walks, bring them over to the pawesome Occoquan Regional Park. This park welcomes dogs on leash, and it includes 350 acres of nature trails, many of which go along the scenic Occoquan River. Your dog will love getting to smell the scents and see the sights in this park. After you’re finishing playing in the park, head over to nearby Sweet Frog Frozen Yogurt for a sweet treat. This customizable frozen yogurt shop has two outdoor tables where you can sit with your pup. Bring your dog their own tasty treat, and enjoy your delicious snacks together.

This Occoquan neighborhood is only three miles from Lorton, and it has some pawsitively amazing things to do with your dog! If your dog is looking for a walk, take them over to River Mill Park. This park has a paved walking trail that winds along the Occoquan River. After you’re finished with your walk, bring your pup over to Fetch Pet Bakery. This local shop offers tasty and healthy treats, including cheese, bacon, and chicken cakes made with grain-free flour. The shop also sells American-made dog toys and cute bandanas. This neighborhood in Woodbridge is home to a pawesome dog park, K-9 Gunner Memorial Park. This park is only about six miles from Lorton, and it has 46,000 square feet of grass and dirt areas. Bring your dog’s favorite toy or a couple tennis balls and spend a fun afternoon with your pup in this great dog park!
