When you want to put out into the Potomac River, bring your boat to Belmont Bay Harbor Marina. The boat ramp here is open to the public. There's also a paved walkway along the water's edge where you and your pup can stretch your legs and enjoy the scenery. The small development of Dawson Landing, located along Marumsco Creek, is a quiet residential area that includes a few parks and natural areas. Take your canine companion walking along the creek and pond at Marumsco Acre Lake Park in this neighborhood. Continue your hike by following Partridge Road to the pedestrian overpass that heads east across the railroad tracks to Veterans Memorial Park. There are grills and tables here so that you and your pooch can enjoy a picnic in the park. Dogs are permitted to accompany you in this area provided that you keep them on a leash and you pick up their waste.

Wander through the woods or enjoy a picnic here with your pup. Head across Blackburn Road to the Rippon Lodge Historic Site. Stroll along the pathway that circles the building.
