If you are hungry when you are in McHenry, head to the Pine Lodge Steakhouse! Here you can get your paws into some delicious ribs, steaks, chicken and seafood for dinner. Of course, this pawsome place is dog friendly, which means you can bring your pooch along and sit at one of the outdoor tables. If you are visiting McHenry and need a place to stay for the night with your furry friend, check out the Double G RV Park. Here you are welcome to get back to nature and enjoy some camping with your family, as well as your beloved companion. All pups can be top dog here, as long as he or she remains on leash.

To go on an adventure with your furry friend, head on over to the puptown of Swanton! This pawsome place is around 13 miles from McHenry, and is home to the puptastic Deep Creek Lake State Park. Here you can go hiking and exploring with your beloved companion on the endless sniff-tastic trails. Head up the Thayerville Fire Tower for furrific views over the lake, and invstigate the woodlands. In addition, you can go swimming and enjoy the beach area. All pooches are welcome at Deep Creek Lake State Park, as long as they remain on leash during your visit here.

For a pawsome day out with your pooch, head to Oakland from McHenry! This puptastic place is around 14 miles away, where you will find the furrific Sorelle’s Pizza Pub and Ice Cream Parlor. Tuck into some delicious wings, sandwiches and pizzas for lunch and dinner. In addition, there are some barking good desserts for a treat, which includes some refreshing ice cream. The best part of this pawrific spot is the dog friendly seating outside where you can watch the world go by with your pup by your side.

Just 14 miless from McHenry, you will find the pawsome puptown of Oakland! This furiendly place is home to Swallow Falls State Park, which is a furrific place to bring your canine for some fun and exercise. Pups are allowed on some of the sniff-tastic trails here, which includes a 5.5 mile trail, and the campground. If you get hungry, go to the Dairy Queen for a bite to eat! Here you can order a refreshing sundae or dipped cone, as well as a special Pup Cup for your pooch. There are also outdoor tables where you can sit and relax.
