Dog Walking in Hazel Park

The city of Hazel Park is 10 miles north of metro Detroit, and a lovely place to stop by with your pup when visiting this area. There are many great little pup-friendly parks, walking trails and a variety of dog-friendly restaurants to seek out in the area.

To let your travelling pup really stretch his legs, make sure you visit Hazel Park Dog Park inside Karam Park. You will need to obtain a pass from the City Clerks Office at City Hall, so have your pup’s veterinary paperwork on hand. At the dog park, there is a space for larger pooches and a separate smaller pup yard, all fully enclosed for safe play.

Green Acres Park in town is a nice place to check out while you are here, with short walking trails, plenty of open green space and picnic pavilions to enjoy. There are often events scheduled here, so check local guides to see what might be on. Scout Park is also worth visiting for a place to take a walk or enjoy a packed lunch.

In Hazel Park, Joebar is the eatery to seek out as they allow pets at the outdoor seating area. This restaurant has a delicious menu of classic pub grub and cold drinks to unwind with. Tuck into a plate of glazed wings, prime rib dip sandwiches or a bloody Mary soup.

With so many things to do and places to go, you will have a pup-tastic time in Hazel Park!
