This 5.2 acre park has plenty of open green grass for your pooch to explore, as well as space to play fetch with your pup’s favorite ball or Frisbee. There are also picnic tables where you can sit and enjoy a treat, as well as playground equipment for the kids, tennis courts and a Frisbee golf course for some fun. To enjoy some pawsome food, head to Zorbaz! This place dishes up some puptastic Mexican and American food and even has outdoor tables where your furry friend is welcome to sit with you.

River Rd/ Highland Dr

To enjoy some exercise with your pup, head to the Detroit Lakes Overlook! This is a beautiful spot in town where you can retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy the relaxing views of the lake. If you are looking for a dog friendly place to stay with your pooch, check into the Holiday Inn. You can bring two pooches of any size for only a small additional fee per night. There is also the pawsome Country Inn & Suites where your pup can feel at home. You are welcome to bring two doggos of any size for only a small additional fee.

Long Bridge Heights

If you are out exploring everything that Detroit Lakes has to offer, you are bound to get hungry! When your stomach starts to growl, head to the pawsome Bridge Bar and Grill. This is a puptastic spot for dinner with delicious burgers, wings and sandwiches, as well as the famous Captain Smoothie that you can try. Of course, the best part about the Bridge Bar and Grill is that it has a furrific patio where furry friends are welcome to join you for some food! Now you can sit and dig into your meal with your beloved companion by your side – bone-a-petit!

Shoreham/ Bucks Mill

If you like getting back to nature, then you will love staying at the Country Campground when you are in Detroit Lakes! This is puptastic place where you can camp with your family and bring your furry friend with you. There is a special trail for tails that is around 0.5 miles long, which circles the camping grounds, as well as a picnic area by Glawe Lake that you can explore. Other pawsome amenities include basketball courts, horseshoe pits and playgrounds for the kids to enjoy. All canines can be top dog at the Country Campgrounds, as long as they remain on leash outside your vehicle.

Westbury/ Richards

If you are hungry and are looking for somewhere you can eat and bring your beloved companion along, head to Izzo’s in Detroit Lakes! There is lots of tasty food here that you can get your paws into, such as burgers, chicken dishes and salads, as well as many beers on tap that you can choose from. Your pooch is welcome in this dog friendly restaurant, and you both can enjoy a relaxing seat out on the patio which has pawsome views of the championship golf course.
