Hello, my name is Brenda. I have been a Wag walker for two years. I love taking your pup for their daily walk and can sit or board for you as well. I have doggy obedience and first aid training that focused on how to create a good and happy relationship with your pet, which has been very useful in creating a secure bond for our furry little friends. Dogs are love. They do so much for us and a good walk and some playful fun is all they ask in return. Looking forward to meeting yours

Kirksville is a small college town that has an avid dog-loving group of longtime residents. There are three veterinary clinics in this town of less than 20,000. These clinics give dogs multi-service emergency and routine dog care. One of the main attractions in the town is the Thousand Hills State Park. This state park has several hundreds of acres of recreational activities for people with dogs. These include three trails and a lake which provides great opportunities for fishing and boating! Dogs are permitted to stay in the tent and recreational vehicle campsites.
This state park is also one of several that participates in the Cabins for Canines program. At least a third of the cabins here are available for people with dogs. Up to two dogs are welcome to stay at the campsites or cabins for an additional fee per night. Dogs are welcome in all areas of the state park (except indoor historic areas and visitor centers) as long as they stay on a leash no longer than 10 feet.
Kirksville also has several dog-friendly hotels and motels for those who need a place to rest their weary heads. Budget Host Village Inn allows no more than two dogs of any size for an additional fee of $10 per dog per night. Knights Inn welcomes up to two dogs of no more than fifty pounds for an additional charge of $10 per dog per night. The Lakeroad Village RV Park at welcomes its RV travelers with dogs, as long as dogs are on leash when out of the RV or in the common areas of the Park. Kirksville has many amenities for for both residents and travelers with dogs, which is why it's the pawfect place for an adventure with your pal.
Kirksville is home to McKinney Bark Park located at 2524 S Franklin Street. This fully fenced dog park gives dogs the chance to run and play leash-free. There is a separate fenced enclosure for the small dogs. The ground of the dog park is grass, and the area is mostly flat or slightly sloping. Water and doggie waste bags are supplied by the dog park, so all you need to bring is Fido's favorite toy. A couple of picnic tables give the human companions a place to sit and supervise their pups at play. A few mature trees inside the dog park give a bit of shade. This dog park is open from 5 a.m. until 11 p.m.
Chillicothe is 75 miles southwest of Kirksville, but the drive is well worth it for the Tin Mapel Memorial Dog Park. This one-acre park, located within the larger Mills Park, is fully fenced so canine companions can romp safely off-leash. There is a separate area for small dogs. Water fountains designed for humans and dogs can be found at this dog park. The local technical school built the playground equipment in the dog park, which includes tunnels, teeter totters and other things for Fido to climb and train on. There are ten benches for the human companions. The ground is mostly grass, and a few mature trees give some shade. Don't forget to bring those doggie waste bags, though!
You'd drive anywhere for your dog, right? Then you'll have no problem taking the 58-mile trip down to Moberly, where you'll find Rothwell Park. This community park, which is also home to a fully fenced dog park, includes paved walking trails which you can explore with your leashed dog. You can let Fido off the leash in the dog park, where small dogs have their own separate enclosure for safer interactions. There are fire hydrants for drinking and cooling down, as well as picnic benches so the human companions have a place to supervise their dogs at play. A unique perk of this park is its campground, which has sites for tent and RV camping. Up to two dogs may stay with campers as long as they are on leash when outside of their camping unit.
Even though this neighborhood is 65 miles north of Kirksville, you'd be barking mad to miss it, especially if you're a nature lover. Head to Ottumwa Bark Park, located in Bell Park at 8 Eleanor Drive. This dog park encompasses 2.25 fully fenced acres, and includes a separate fenced enclosure for small dogs. The ground is a mixture of crushed rock and grass. Water fountains designed for people and dogs are available at this dog park, in addition to waste baggies and disposal stations. A few pieces of agility equipment add variety to the exercise and help with training. The main park also has scenic walking paths for a leashed dog and human companion to explore together.
This Columbia neighborhood is located 90 miles south of Kirksville, but has many activities to offer people and their dogs! Your pal will have a splashin' good time at Twin Lakes Dog Park, located at 2500 Chapel Hill Road. A word to the wise: this dog park isn't fenced. It's one large, open area for your dog to roam free, so you should ensure your dog responds well to voice commands to avoid problems. A lake serves as one of the boundaries, and provides your pup with a fun place to make a splash with new fur-iends on a hot day. The terrain of the dog park includes woods, grass, and, of course, the lake. There is also a tree-lined hiking trail for you and your leashed pup to get some exercise together.
