Central Albany
If you are looking for a green little town for you and your dog to spend the weekend, you will love Albany! There are several small parks located there in addition to a full litter of streams where you can have a splashtastic time with your dog while beating the heat! The Middle Park in the center of Albany is a great place to start the day if you just want a relaxing leisurely stroll or some space to toss a tennis ball around for a while. The Albany Community Center also has a great outdoor field and green play area where leashed dogs are more than welcome to visit.

Darlington
Darlington is another small and charming neighborhood just 14 minutes south of Albany. It is well worth a stop as you pass through. You will love the open green spaces in between houses here and the fresh rural town air that you just can’t get when you get closer to the bigger cities. Your dog will benefit from a day or even a weekend in this neighborhood with its enticing scenery and vivid wildlife. If you are visiting Darlington, keep your pet on leash and keep plenty of cleanup bags with you so that you can leave this great little town just the way you found it.

Gentry
About 14 minutes to the north of Albany you will come to Gentry, Missouri. This small town is just as charming as its neighbors, with plenty of dog-friendly open spaces and fresh air for both you and your dog. Home to just 72 residents, this town is the epitome of rural charm. Right in the middle of Gentry you will find a large square green field where dog owners love to take their pups and families for a picnic or a relaxing day in the sun. Bring your waste bags and Frisbees if you plan on stopping through this part of town for a barktastic afternoon.

Stanberry
Stanberry is a mediu- sized town about fifteen minutes from the center of Albany. Your pup will love stopping along any of the local streams for walk. You can bring a blanket and sprawl out on the grass for a few hours while your dog sniffs and wags his way around this great little town. You can grab a quick bite to-go from Gambino’s Pizza; just keep your tail-waggin’ companion away from the anchovies! If you are looking for a fun little break from your normal hustle and bustle, the town of Stanberry is a great place to hang your hat!
New Hampton
New Hampton is just a few minutes from Albany and has many of the familiar streams found in the surrounding neighborhoods. This residential area is the pawfect place for a picnic in any of the small green spaces found between properties and businesses here. If you are staying in New Hampton for a few nights, the residents will be happy to show you around and help you find things you may need for your stay. You won’t find any chain stores or restaurants here, but you will find plenty of dog-loving, friendly people at the local gas station if you find yourself in need of a local tour guide.
