Camden Point, Missouri is the where the Battle of Camden Point took place during the Civil War. A Confederate Army battalion of 300 was picnicking in an open meadow when they were ambushed by a battalion of Union soldiers that totaled somewhere between 700 and 1,000. None of the Confederate Army survived and twenty of the Union soldiers died. The Pleasant Grove Cemetery and Confederate Monument were erected in the 1870s so that these men would never be forgotten. You and your dog can talk a walk around the cemetery and pay your respects to the soldiers from both sides.
Right outside Camden Point is a bed and breakfast called Lazy Dog Acres. This is the place to bring your dog for an entire weekend with your pup. There are other pups to play with, activities for you to do together, and pet parents to meet up with. You will love the laid-back atmosphere of the rooms. It is a great place to unplug and find out who you are.
Overall, Camden Point is a small town that is built around its history. There's not much to do here for pet owners, but you'll find more activities and places to visit with Fido just a short drive away from Camden Point.
