“Happiness is time spent with a great dog!”

Hi! I absolutely adore dogs and would love to meet yours! I’ve had a dog by my side since birth. We’ve owned Cocker Spaniels, Pekingese, Akitas, Rottweilers, a Blue Heeler and an American Eskimo. I have lots of personal experience with many different breeds, sizes and fur types. I think a dog is truly a family member and should be treated as such. Every family is different so I’m happy to do whatever is best for your furry family member.

Dog Walking in Camden Point

Camden Point, Missouri is the where the Battle of Camden Point took place during the Civil War. A Confederate Army battalion of 300 was picnicking in an open meadow when they were ambushed by a battalion of Union soldiers that totaled somewhere between 700 and 1,000. None of the Confederate Army survived and twenty of the Union soldiers died. The Pleasant Grove Cemetery and Confederate Monument were erected in the 1870s so that these men would never be forgotten. You and your dog can talk a walk around the cemetery and pay your respects to the soldiers from both sides.

Right outside Camden Point is a bed and breakfast called Lazy Dog Acres. This is the place to bring your dog for an entire weekend with your pup. There are other pups to play with, activities for you to do together, and pet parents to meet up with. You will love the laid-back atmosphere of the rooms. It is a great place to unplug and find out who you are.

Overall, Camden Point is a small town that is built around its history. There's not much to do here for pet owners, but you'll find more activities and places to visit with Fido just a short drive away from Camden Point.

Tanner's Bar and Grill has a huge selection of all your favorite pub fare with a twist. Burgers are piled high with bacon, mushrooms, and cheese. Chicken Lips are a local favorite. These are chicken strips dipped in your favorite sauce so that they have just the right amount of flavor. The bar serves a decent range of brews and spirits so you can add a little extra kick to your meal if you want. Your dog can join you to watch the game on the big screen so that you don't have to watch the game alone. Don't fur-get to bring a water bowl!

O'Malley is an Irish pub that is located about eleven miles from Camden Point. They serve traditional Irish dishes like shepherd's pie and bangers 'n mash. You can enjoy your favorite brew out in the beer garden with your pup and your buddies. It is a great way to spend the night relaxing and hanging out with your family and fur-iends, even the furry ones! If you have never been to an Irish pub, you should definitely pay O'Malley a visit! Go in and ask for the house special. It changes with the season, but it is always the best dish on the menu.

Weston State Park has a dog run that you and your dog will love visiting. It's a little on the smaller side, but that's okay -- we're sure your pup won't mind! The dog run encompasses two acres divided into 3 parts: one for small dogs, one for big dogs, and a separate area for shy dogs. There is a check-in area at the entrance. You can get a day pass or a visiting pass if you don't want to make an annual commitment. Each area has its own benches and running water. There are pet cleaning stations in all three areas as well. Come on and play! It's only a ten-minute drive down the road.

Waggin Tails Dog Park is a six-acre dog park located right in the middle of Leavenworth. It is about a twenty-five minute drive to get here from Camden Point. You and your dog will both find new friends to socialize with. There are two separate areas for big dogs and small dogs to use. It is mostly grass, but you should be aware that it does get muddy on rainy days. There are cleaning stations set up so that you can clean up after your dog. The water fountains tend to get a little muddy, so you may want to bring your own to avoid muddy paws.
