Chadron is a small town with all the fixings! Located in Northwest Nebraska, Chadron is the pawfect place for pet parents with a taste for the open air. This college town is well-known for its affordability and tight-knit ties. Plus, it has a youthful population and lots to offer its residents. You’ll find a handful of local veterinarians available for emergency and everyday needs. You can even bring your precious pup along for lunch at the pet-friendly patio tables outside of Country Kitchen!

The Chadron Dog Park is a neighborhood spot for locals to hang out with their fur-babies. The hidden, fenced-in bark park has undergone a series of renovations recently, which shows the community’s appreciation for their four-legged residents! You should pack extra dog bags and water, however. Chadron as a whole has a generally pet-friendly vibe and a decent walkability score. This means dog owners can accomplish errands in the area on foot, and Fido gets plenty of much-needed exercise.

Chadron is nestled around a number of national and state parks, forests, and grasslands. Plus it is a great stop while on the way to the Black Hills – home of Mount Rushmore and over 5 million acres of beautiful mountains and forestlands.
