Southeast Scottsbluff
Check out some woofderful parks in the Southeast Scottsbluff neighborhood, about eight miles from Minatare! Filling up two city blocks, the neighborhood’s Veterans Park is a pawsome place to visit with your leashed dog. There’s tons of open grass where you and Fido can stretch your legs, play or train, plus lots of mature trees. Veterans Park also has a playground, picnic areas, tennis and basketball courts, soccer fields and a baseball backstop. Overland Park is another nearby shady spot where you and Fido can enjoy a picnic. There’s also a playground and tons of grass at this community park. Just a few blocks away, you and your pooch will also love strolling in Neighbor Park.

The Avenues
You and Fido only have to travel about nine miles for a woofderful muttropolitan experience! Start your visit to the Scottsbluff neighborhood known as The Avenues with a trip to Central Park. Dotted with mature trees and sculptures, this city park is a lovely spot for a jaunt with your pup. This beautiful park also has large lawn areas where you and your leashed pup can play or relax, plus a quaint gazebo that provides a woofderful place to sit and take in the peacefulness of this outdoor space with Fido by your side. After your walk, grab a pet-friendy table on the patio at Cappuccino and Company where you can indulge in a Panini or a specialty coffee.

Railway/ 17th
Pawsome parks await you and Fido in Scottsbluff’s Railway/ 17th neighborhood, about 10 miles from Minatare! This residential neighborhood has three woofderful green spaces where you and your leashed pup will love exploring! Located adjacent to the Westmoor Elementary School, the area’s largest park, Jaycee Park, is an expansive grassy area that is a great spot for a nice walk, playtime or training with your furry pal. A few blocks away, you and your pup will find Westmoor Park, a furrific place to spread out a blanket beneath a shade tree and enjoy a picnic. The neighborhood’s McCaffree Park is a quiet little retreat with open grass, a playground, a basketball court and plenty of trees.

South Gering
Discover one of the area’s largest and most beautiful parks in Gering, about 10 miles from Minatare! This neighborhood’s 68-acre Oregon Trail Park is a furrific spot to visit with your leashed pooch and take in the views of the geological wonder that is Scotts Bluff in the distance. This pawsome park has grassy play areas lined with trees and bushes, providing Fido with lots of things to see and sniff on your jaunt. The Oregon Trail Park also has tennis and volleyball courts, a playground, a covered picnic area, horseshoe pits and restrooms. It’s a puptacular park for family gatherings!
North Scottsbluff
If you’re looking for a woofderful place to stroll with your leashed pooch, head to the North Scottsbluff neighborhood, about 11 miles from Minatare! There, you and Fido can enjoy a walk in Frank Park where there is a paved pathway that makes a couple loops around the park’s perimeter. There are shade trees along the way and you’ll also pass the park’s playground and covered picnic tables. Follow the path to the north and you’ll find yourselves in the adjacent Terry Carpenter Park and Recreation Area. The walkway makes a loop through this sports complex where there’s also a grass field where you and your pup can play. Northwood Park is another fur-iendly wide open green space in the neighborhood.
