Named for the nearby Scotts Bluff National Monument, the town of Scottsbluff is a friendly community in the western plains of Nebraska. This family-friendly community is also quite fur-iendly! Scottsbluff has four animal clinics, too, to make sure your pup stays healthy! 

Just south of town, you and Fido can take a trip back in time at area’s namesake monument. The majestic geological features of this park served as a landmark for Native Americans and pioneers traveling west on the Oregon and Mormon Trails. Nowadays, the area is a woofderful learning opportunity with tons of natural beauty to boot! Hike the Saddle Rock Trail or drive the Summit Road with your pup and enjoy the breathtaking valley views from the overlooks!

Riverside Dog Park is another pawpular spot for dogs to visit in Scottsbluff! This large, fully enclosed off-leash area is a blast for pooches, as there is agility equipment, fire hydrants and tons of room to run! There is a separate area for little dogs and a spigot for filling water bowls.

There is a woofderful paved trail that meanders around a large lawn, past Scottsbluff’s Babe Ruth Baseball Field, and across the street to the neighboring Frank Park! There are lots of trees at Frank Park where your pooch is likely to sniff out a squirrel as you stroll on the paved pathway. Frank Park also has a playground for kiddos and a picnic pavilion. Just a few blocks west, you and Fido will have a pawesome time romping in the huge open grassy area at Northwood Park!

There’s also a basketball half-court and a playground.

    Explore one of the town’s bigger parks in the Southeast Scottsbluff neighborhood! This area’s Veterans Park has a massive open space lush with grass where you and your leashed furry friend can take a walk or play. The park’s perimeter is lined with trees, giving it a secluded feel, and providing Fido with plenty of things to sniff as you explore the area. Veterans Park also has tennis and basketball courts, plus a playground for two-legged children.
