Home of the Wyoming State Fair, the city of Douglas is located in Converse County. This community has 138 acres of parkland and many miles of trails where dogs and their owners can get exercise and fresh air. There are three veterinary clinics in town.
Go for a hike along the North Platte River with your canine companion. There's a trail along the western shore that stretches northward from the middle school. Remember to keep Fido on a leash and to pick up his waste.
Spend some time in the park with your fur baby at Keith Rider Park. This pawesome facility has a pond, a playground, a walking trail, and picnic areas. Take a stroll or jog on the pathway to get a little exercise and fresh air. Bring a lunch to share a meal with your furry friend in the park. Make sure you keep him on a leash.
You don't have to go far to take your pup camping. Check out Douglas KOA Journey Campground to spend a night or weekend away. This facility has cabins, hook-ups, and tent sites. Dogs are permitted as long as they're not aggressive and are kept on a leash no longer than six feet.
