Londonderry is conveniently located near the cities of Derry and Manchester, and many local residents commute to these cities for work. While Londonderry doesn't have a centralized downtown district, it is home to plenty of shops, businesses, restaurants, and other amenities worth checking out. Living in Londonderry, you'll get to experience all four seasons to the full extent, with long, cold winters and warm, humid summers. Londonderry is also known for its abundance of apple orchards, and some residents refer to their home as "Appletown."

If you're not out exploring an apple orchard or visiting a nearby dog park with your pooch, the two of you can check out a delicious and dog-friendly restaurant in Londonderry. One of these places is called Giovanni's Roast Beef and Pizza, and it's located on Rockingham Road. At Giovanni's, you can dine on specialty pizzas, salads, calzones, pasta, subs, and more. There are three outdoor pet-friendly tables, but your dog will have to remain outside while you go in to order. If you and your pooch would like to visit an off-leash park after your meal, the two of you can head to one of several nearby dog parks!

Benson Park is a large park with plenty of forest space, trails, playgrounds, and a petting zoo in addition to the off-leash park. The off-leash dog area includes separate sections for big and small dogs. The other 160 acres of Benson Park are filled with beautiful scenery and areas to explore with your dog. There are miles of trails throughout the park that take you through wooded areas and open fields, and your dog can join you on all of these trails if they're wearing their leash.

Mine Falls Park is a 325-acre natural oasis, and it includes a three-acre fenced-in, off-leash space known as the Nashua Dog Park, or the Mine Falls Dog Park. This park was built in 2012 after a dedicated group of volunteers worked to make it happen, and they continue to take great pride in the dog park. Nashua Dog Park has big and small dog areas, as well as walking trails, seating, waste disposal supplies, and water. A small membership fee is required to visit this park.

    If you drive 25 miles south of Londonderry across the border in Lowell, Massachusetts, you'll end up in the northeastern quadrant of town. This area is where you'll find Lowell Dog Park, a 31,000 square foot off-leash park that has separate areas for big and small dogs. This dog park was built in 2007 after local dog owners and other volunteers dedicated their own time to make it happen. During the warmer months of the year, there's running water for dogs to drink, but be sure to bring your own in the winter. This park has lighting if you plan to visit later in the day, and there is also seating and shade throughout the park.

This off-leash park is less than five miles from Londonderry, and you'll find it in the Peppermint Corner community. Derry Dog Park has everything you or your dog could ever want in a dog park, including big and small dog areas, agility equipment, plastic pools for swimming, drinking water for dogs, waste disposal supplies, and seating. You and your dog can also take a stroll around the Peppermint Corner community and have a look at the rows of stunning homes and tree-lined streets in the area.

The community of Piscataquog is located along the Merrimack River in Manchester, and this is where you'll find the Manchester Dog Park, also known as Peanut Park. This 10,000 square foot off-leash park is the first and only of its kind in Manchester, and it costs $10 a year to become a member. There is no division of dogs by weight at this park, so your dog will make new friends of all sizes!
