The city of Linwood, New Jersey was originally named Leedsville. The United States Post Office advised that the name needed to be changed because it was causing problems since there was another city with the same name. In 1880, the town was renamed Linwood, a name which won out over three other options.

There is a great place for you and your furry friend to enjoy a meal together in this quaint city. The La Pizzatega is a dog-friendly restaurant that serves a wide variety of Italian foods. You can share a slice at any of the Fido-friendly outdoor tables. Just looking to get something quick? Take your order to-go!

You'll also find a gorgeous nature trail in Linwood to explore with your four-footed friend, the Pleasantville to Somers Point Bike Path. This 8.2-mile trail is an old rail line that is now part of the Rails-To-Trails program. The trail is paved and meanders through quiet residential neighborhoods of Linwood. There isn't much shade on the trail, and you will want to bring water with you as well as doggy waste bags for cleaning up after Fido. Be sure to bring a leash and your best walking shoes with you when you come to Linwood; you'll need them!
