If you’re looking to start out a sunny day on a good note, make your way over to Victoria Pointe, a neighborhood known for its scenic views. This is where you will find the Atlantic County Bike Trail East, which is a renovated former railroad beautified by the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy in an effort to provide plenty of dog-friendly trails for you and your canine companion to enjoy. Be sure to keep your pup on a leash, and bring plenty of doggy waste bags to clean up any messy mishaps. Be sure to bring fresh drinking water as well.

Brigantine North End

For another beach destination that can’t be missed on any doggy day trip, mosey on over to Brigantine North End, a neighborhood in the lovely town of Brigantine. There, you’ll find the Brigantine North End Beach, an impressive seaside spot where you and your leashed pup can go dog wild. Although this is not an off-leash beach, don’t let that stop you from having a good time. Your dog can still tread through the tides and meet plenty of new pup pals. Bring plenty of treats for Fido to share, and you’re both sure to be a hit at this beach.

Historic Smithville

If you’re less of an outdoorsy type and prefer urban activities like shopping, Historic Smithville is just the place for you. It’s home to Paw Dazzle, a wonderfully eccentric pet shop with a selection of specialty pet supplies, as well as homemade dog treats and any number of other goodies your pup could want. If your regal rover expects to be treated like royalty, you'd be barking mad not to take him to Paw Dazzle. Particularly good pooches will be allowed some of the complimentary treats, and if you decide you want to take a few bags home, their prices are great!

North Beach Haven

Coffee lovers and canine enthusiasts will never need to be mutually exclusive at this next location. Follow your pup’s nose to North Beach Haven, located in the greater city of Beach Haven. There is where you’ll find Cool Beans Coffee Shop, a well-maintained little cafe that serves some of the best lattes you’ll ever taste. Enjoy the sunny day at their outdoor seating area, and let your pup relish in all the attention they’ll receive from the numerous passersby. Get revved up for some additional activities, and enjoy the tasty craft brews at your disposal at this shop.

Spray Beach

Last but not least is a special treat, especially for those who prefer to avoid eating meat. Don’t let the absence of the classic protein scare you off from visiting Spray Beach, home of Living on The Veg, an eccentric restaurant that focuses on meat-free options. In addition to having vegetarian options, there are plenty of choices for vegans as well. You’re welcome to bring your pup to any of the outdoor picnic tables, which feature large umbrellas to beat that summer sun. Try one of their many fruit smoothie options, or a veggie sandwich, and you really can’t go wrong!
