With a total area of just 3.5 square miles, Northfield is quite a small city, but this makes it easy to explore by foot, as well as by paw. With sprawling parks, dog-friendly restaurants and a highly rated animal hospital, this is a city that has so much to offer for both you and your pooch.

When it comes to the parks in Northfield, the highlight is most definitely Birch Grove Park. There are 271 acres to explore here, complete with fresh water fishing spots, a historical house, a playground, picnic areas, and a campsite, as well as several nature trails that wind their way through the grounds.

If your pooch would prefer a shorter walk, Stillwater Park boasts beautiful waterfront views. This is a passive park, with half of it consisting of a dense covering of mature trees, and the other half open grass for your pooch to roam about in.

For pups who enjoy being wined and dined, check out Carluccio's Coal Fired Pizza, which has been featured on Food Network's TV show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives for their coal-fired build-your-own pizzas.
