City Center

Like the name suggests, City Center is a neighborhood that’s tucked into the center of Absecon. The highlight of this neighborhood is Heritage Park, a tidy little park with a walking path that travels through the most scenic areas and a small lake to add to the surrounding natural air. It’s the perfect detour to take on your daily walk, so long as you keep your pup properly leashed at all times. Remember to bring enough water for the two of you, as there isn’t easy access to it at this park. You’ll definitely have a sniff-tastic time with your pooch!

Pitney Road

Pitney Road is a lovely local area with two gorgeous natural parks that are perfect for taking your pup through anytime of day. The larger one, Absecon Recreation Development II, includes a jogging path and breathtaking landscaping that really draws the whole area together. Close to the east is Green Acres Park, with plenty of open field room for you and your pup to run and play. Dogs are welcome in either park so long as they’re properly leashed. Don’t forget to bring water for the two of you! No matter your choice, you’ll certainly have a pawful of fun!

Seaview Estate

Just a few minutes outside of Absecon is the nearby Seaview Estate, located in the city of Galloway. Its prized feature, named after the neighborhood, is a gorgeous park that stretches between East Great Creek Road and East Jimmie Leeds Road. This lush green area is covered with a host of hiking and walking trails, all friendly to dogs so long as they’re kept on a leash. These trails are well shaded and offer breathtaking views unlike any other, making this spot well worth the trip outside Absecon. Remember to bring water for the both of you. and your pup will absolutely never want to leave!

South New Road/ Ohio Avenue

This sweet little neighborhood is home to both a friendly community and a lovely scenic area. Right off South New Road is a gorgeous walking trail that loops around to West California Avenue along Conover’s Creek. All dogs must be kept on a leash at all times, for both their safety and yours.  If you need space to run, the park at the end of Franklin Boulevard, simply called Franklin Boulevard Playground, is the perfect spot to let your pup stretch his legs. This little neighborhood park boasts a large playground and an extensive green field to burn off all that puppy energy and have a pawtastic time!

Fairways

While thirty minutes outside of Absecon, Fairways located in Egg Harbor Township is definitely well worth the drive. Home to Longport Dog Beach, this off leash beach offers a place for you and your pup to run free in the sand and the waves, perfect for cooling off on a hot summer day and for socializing with other local dog lovers.  The sand is smooth and the waters are mellow, making this an ideal spot for playing with your favorite four legged friend. There are no trash cans or drinking water access points on site, so plan to dispose of all trash off the site and bring water enough for you and your furry pooch.
