Riverton is a charming borough in Burlington County nestled on the banks of the Delaware River, just south of the New Jersey-Pennsylvania border. Pastoral and quiet, the community was originally intended to be a summer retreat. Today, the borough proudly displays its historical heritage and is home to a number of historical places and buildings that are perfect for self-guided tours.

There are plenty of public parks where you can enjoy a mindful walk with your pooch, as well as a few pet-friendly eateries with outdoor tables and 3 veterinary hospitals. The surrounding areas offer convenient dog parks, and if you don’t mind traveling for a bit, Moorestown or Pennsauken Township will be happy to welcome you and your buddy for some off-leash playtime.

Leaving behind Riverton Memorial Park and East Riverton Park in downtown Riverton, head east to Swedes Run Dog Park, a spacious dog park with a wooden fence and two separate sections for small and large breeds. Located in the northwestern part of Moorestown, the park is a popular and attractive spot for many locals and visitors. No need to bring anything except a leash; the park has benches, drinking water, and enough shade for hot days.

While you're in Riverton, pay a visit to Castle Harbor Drive-in, a pet-friendly joint with outdoor tables offering charming riverfront views and a drive-through window for your comfort!
