Edgewater Park
There are quite a few city parks to be found in the Edgewater Park neighborhood. One of the most popular is Woodlake Park, because although there may not be many facilities here, this scenic, well-shaded park is home to a new, quarter mile section of the Delaware River Heritage Trail. The main trail is still being developed, but will soon consist of a 60 mile loop along the upper portion of the Delaware River estuary. For even more greenery, Roosevelt Park, with its playground and sports facilities, is also in this neighborhood. Since these are all city parks, you will need to keep your pooch on a lead, and don't forget to bring doggie bags and drinking water too.

Burlington City Center
Just a seven minute drive from Beverly lies the City Center of Burlington, where you will find Greenlanders Park. This spacious city park is home to sports facilities, a large lake and several picnic areas, making this a pawsome spot for a leisurely dog walk. If you would like to treat your pooch to a meal afterwards, head on over to Francesco Pizzeria and Restaurant, a family-run establishment that specializes in authentic Sicilian cuisine. For somewhere nearby to spend the night, the Lily Inn is a quaint, family-run B&B that allows small dogs in their guest rooms for an extra fee.

Echo Reach/ Torresdale Manor
The town of Bensalem, just over the border in Pennsylvania, is less than eight miles from Beverly, and is home to the Neshaminy State Park. This park sprawls out for 339 acres, and features a playground, picnic areas, boat ramps, and even a swimming pool. Of course, there are some pawtastic walking trails to be found here, totalling around five miles in length. The River Walk Trail is one of the prettiest, with several benches from where you and Fido can take in the stunning river views, while the Eagles Forest Trail provides quite the educational experience, with numerous signs providing information on the native trees and various habitats around you. Dogs are allowed on all of these trails, but do need to be kept on a lead.

The 120 acre Laurel Run Park is one of the newest parks in the area, and not only is this a popular bird-watching spot, but it is also home to picnic areas with grills and a one mile nature trail. If your pooch is still not tired, take a walk over to the Boundary Creek Natural Resource Area. There are 34 acres to explore here, with an abundance of plants and wildlife to see, as well as a path to take you through it all, but be sure to keep your dog on a lead at all times.
