There are no words to describe what an amazing sitter Bruce is/was. We have a unique dog environment at home and Bruce embraced it and handled it flawlessly while we were away. I am so happy Bruce was available to watch our dogs. Our dogs loved him and enjoyed every minute spent. He provide excellent communication with us and followed instructions perfectly while we were away. He even provided a little extra support during our travels home when we got unexpectedly delayed. Unidad Park

One of the most pup-ular destinations in the city is the Las Cruces Dog Park on N. Hermosa Street. This off-leash park allows pups to run around and socialize with their puppy friends. There is some shade and the benches are perfect for pooch parents to sit and relax while their pupsplay. The water stations will offer a cool drink, and there are clean up bags provided and a large trash can to make sure the park stays clean. During the summer, pups will also enjoy the plastic swimming pools where they can cool off. Unidad Park is connected to the dog park area and features a fun play structure where the kids can enjoy hours of activity. On your way home, stop by the Corner Bakery Café and pick up breakfast or lunch and eat at one of the outdoor tables.

Las Cruces City Center

Situated in the center of the city, the Pioneer Women’s Park is a great place to walk Fido and spend time with the family. The kids will enjoy the playground, and you can stroll with your pooch around the park and admire the flowers. There is a gazebo where you and your pup can relax and enjoy the fresh air, or sit on one of the benches and chat with friends while the pups roll around in the grass. If you get hungry, Zeffiro Pizzeria Napoletana is close by where you can enjoy some Italian food or soups and salads. Your pooch can join you on the outdoor patio, and the wait staff will bring him a bowl of water. There is also a great pet-friendly hotel close by. Holiday Inn Express welcomes two pets of any size for an additional fee.

Mesilla

Fido will love the adventure of spending time at Mesilla Valley Bosque State Park on the Rio Grande River. You can walk through the expansive nature trails and admire the plants and wildlife along the way. The trails are well maintained, and you can get information about the local area from one of the park rangers. You will need to make sure to bring plenty of water and your own waste bags to clean up after your pup. Plan to hike over to the Dripping Springs Natural Area where you might see water in the spring, or just relax on one of the benches along the way.

South Las Cruces

Located on Lees Drive, Young Park is conveniently situated in the southern part of the city. You can walk Fido along the walkways and admire the flowers, or stroll around the fishing pond. The kids can run around on the playground while you and your pup relax on one of the shaded benches and sip some cold water. You can even refill your water bottles at the nearby restrooms. After a fun afternoon of play, stop by McAlister’s Deli where you and Fido can relax at one of the outdoor tables and enjoy a variety of sandwiches.

La Llorna

Situated along the Rio Grande River off West Picacho Avenue, La Llorna Park is the perfect place to walk your pooch and admire the river. There is a well-maintained walking path along the riverbank where you and your pooch can watch the activities on the water. Sit on a bench and relax with a bottle of water, but know that there is not a lot of shade. If you are out with the kids, they will have a blast at the playground, and there are convenient bathrooms nearby. After exercising at the park, stop by Valley Pizza for dinner and sit at one of the tables outside with your pup.
