Dog Walking in Boulder City

Boulder City is located just outside Las Vegas. This desert city is home to the famous Hoover Dam. In fact, the city originated as a settlement for the workers building the dam back in the 1930s.

There are some great restaurants in this city where you and your canine friend can dine together. A great place to enjoy some food and drinks with your pup is the Boulder Dam Brewing Company. This Fido-friendly eatery welcomes canine companions at the outdoor picnic bench seating, which is also shaded for your comfort. This brewery features more than 12 craft beers and serves up a variety of scrumptious foods, making it the pawfect place to enjoy a bite and brew with your best pal!

There are also dog events that are held in this city throughout the year. Before you visit, check which event will be there while you are in town. After a long day of fun in the Boulder sun, you and Fido can rest your weary heads at the Quality Inn Boulder City, or at any of the pet-friendly AirBnB rentals here.

If you and Fido are looking to enjoy a walk (or a swim!), you're in the right place. The 25-acre Veterans Memorial Park is located here, and welcomes dogs as long as they are on a leash. There is a pond for fishing that your pup will love taking a dip in! Your canine pal will also enjoy exploring the grassy surface of the park and sniffing out the new terrain. The park offers some agility equipment for your pooch to play on, and there are a few trees for shade. Make sure to bring water and some doggie waste bags for clean-up since this isn't a dog park. Grab your pup’s leash and stop by for a pawesome time!

If you and your pooch enjoy hiking, or even just walking while enjoying the outdoors, you won't want to miss The White Rock Canyon Trail. This 4-mile trail can get rocky and is narrow in spots, so always be aware of your surroundings. It is mainly a dirt-covered trail with no shade. You will need to bring plenty of water for you and your pooch, as it tends to get hot on the trail.  Lace up your best walking shoes, grab Fido's leash, and see how much of the trail you two can tackle. The scenery is breathtakingly beautiful here, so you might want to bring a camera!

This dog-friendly neighborhood is home to a pawesome trail converted from an old rail line by the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy. The Historic Railroad Hiking Trail is a 3.7-mile trail covered in dirt and/or gravel. There are a lot of sights to see here, and the ground is fairly level, making this a fairly easy hike. You'll even see a few caves, and your pup will love sniffing all of the new scents along the way! Be sure to bring a lot of water for you and your pup, as there is no shade along the trail. Oh, and keep Fido on a leash, too, since one is required here.

This Las Vegas neighborhood is located about 25 miles from Boulder City, and is home to the Barkin’ Basin Dog Park at Wayne Bunker Park. This off-leash, fenced-in dog park sits inside the main park, which your pal will need to be on a leash to explore. There are two separate areas: one for smaller dogs, and one for larger dogs. Your pup will have a blast making friends at this park! There are also water fountains available for if your pooch gets thirsty. Shade trees and benches are provided for owners to take a break from the desert heat while they watch their canine pals play. This park has two pawesome perks: it's open from 7am until 10pm, and it's well-lit at night so you can walk anytime. Grab your pup’s favorite toy and enjoy a furrific day at this park!

This dog-friendly Vegas neighborhood is a great place to spend the day with your pup. The Desert Inn Dog Park is located here, making it well worth the short drive from Boulder City. This off-leash dog park is completely fenced-in and has a soft, grassy surface where your pooch is free to run and romp. There are several benches and trees that provide shade from the sun. The park also has water spigots that your canine pal will enjoy. Remember to bring doggie waste bags for easier clean-up, as the park does not provide them. Grab a ball and make some memories with your pal at this park!
