Suffern
Suffern is twenty-one miles south of Fort Montgomery. Suffern Kakiart Park is located at 668 Haverstraw Road. The dog park in this park is one separate fully fenced enclosure. The ground is covered in wood chips. Benches for the human companions are situated around the perimeter of the dog park. There is a small covered place to sit, and a picnic table. There is no water within the dog park, so you’ll need to bring some. The main park offers many opportunities to take a scenic hike with a dog on leash. Some of the trails are pretty rugged, though, so wear some good shoes. Trees abound, and there are numerous sites to picnic with your furry friend. A sparkling creek will tempt you and your dog into a splash on a hot day.

Montgomery
Montgomery is twenty-six miles north of Fort Montgomery. Montgomery has some fun places to visit with your pup. Thomas Bull Memorial Dog Park is located at 211 NY 416. This dog park has a fully fenced enclosure for your dog to run leash-free. There is a separate fenced section for the small dogs. The surface here is 1.5 acres of grass for your pups to play in. Dogs are more than welcome to frolick in the fresh grass and just be themselves here. There is water available on-site. Human companions have many places to sit and watch their pups at play. Don’t forget to bring some doggie waste bags and a good book to make your outing to the park un-fur-gettable!

Fishkill
Fishkill is nineteen miles north of Fort Montgomery. Friendly Paws Park, also known as Doug Phillips Dog Park, may be found on Route 52, east of Route 82. This is a large fenced patch of grass, mulch, and dirt for all dogs to play in leash-free. There is no separate area for small dogs. Running water is available here; a hose and buckets are supplied by the dog park. Waste bags may not be stocked, so it is wise to bring your own. There is shade for the human companion, but very few places to sit. The dog park requires a permit from the City of Fishkill. Fishkill charges more for nonresidents. Passes are annual.

Elmsford
Elmsford is thirty miles south of Fort Montgomery. Elmsford has a bit of its town set aside for some off-leash fun for pups. Elmsford Dog Park has a mostly grass surface, and the enclosure is fully fenced. There is a separate area for the smaller dogs. Waste bags are in ample supply. There are shaded benches for the human companions. After a romp in the dog park, a person with a pup can visit the Captain Lawrence Brewery at 444 Saw Mill River Road. The brewery allows dogs in the taste room, and the outdoor beer garden. Great manners are expected from all guests, and your pal needs to remain on leash here at all times.

Ossining
Ossining is sixteen miles south of Fort Montgomery. Cedar Lane Dog Park is located at 235 Cedar Lane. This dog park is a fully fenced enclosure for off-leash play and socialization. There is a separate area for the small dogs. Inside the enclosure are many mature trees for Fido to sniff out. The dog park is built on a slope, and a part of it has a terraced side. In a flatter section are pieces of agility equipment. The ground is covered in wood chips for good, clean fun. Benches and picnic tables are situated within the dog park. The dog park has specially designed water fountains for people and dogs, and waste bags are well-stocked here. All you need now is Fido’s favorite ball!
