Salisbury Mills
Salisbury Mills is a lakeside residential neighborhood where dogs and their owners can stroll down quiet streets. When you want to go on a pawsome outdoor adventure with your pup, head to the Trestle Trail in Schunnemunk State Park. This 1.7-mile trail climbs the western side of Schunnemunk Mountain and has spectacular views of Skytop Tower and the Catskills. Connect with other trails that cross the mountain if you want to extend your hike. The full loop of trails is an 8-mile hike. Dogs are permitted to join you provided you keep them on a leash and pick up their waste.36

Beaverdam Lake
Beaverdam Lake, located adjacent to Salisbury Mills, is a delightful place for dog lovers and their four-footed pals. Here, you can enjoy quiet days on the water. For some puptacular hiking, take a drive to the Stewart State Forest. Take Weed Road/New Road into the forest to connect with one of the many trails in the area. Hike through wetlands, forests, and fields in this 6,700-acre facility. There are over 22 miles of trails here for you to explore with your furry friend. The park is open year round, except during big-game hunting season. Dogs are allowed to join you provided that you keep them under control and clean up their waste.24

West Cornwall
Located just to the east of Salisbury Mills, the neighborhood of West Cornwall is a sprawling rural community. In this area, you can take your dog for a walk along forested roads or head down to the trailhead for the Blackrock Forest Northern Loop. Starting from the parking area at Mine Hill Road, you and Fido can hike through this expansive forest. With over 30 miles of footpaths and trails, you and your special pal will get plenty of exercise here. Dogs on leashes are allowed to accompany you. Remember to bring along water for your hike and to pick up any waste.12
