It is time to get out of your comfort zone -- sixteen miles outside of your comfort zone, to be exact. Head over to Wegmans Good Dog Park. This park is pretty pawpular with the locals, so Fido won’t have any trouble making a few new fur-iends here. If you have Fido’s leash, you can take him for a walk along the trails and enjoy some exercise in nature. The fenced in areas offer two gated, separate areas to ensure safe play for all dogs. Don’t forget to bring your pup’s favorite toy, some water, and some doggie waste bags.

Auburn

Are you and your pawesome pal ready for an un-fur-gettable adventure? Put Fido in the car and come on down to Auburn-Fleming Trail, just 12 miles from Jordan. Rails-to-Trails has made the whole area stand out simply be preserving the natural beauty of the old railway line. This 1.6-mile trail winds its way through wetlands, farms and even some wooded areas. What’s even better is that it is left exactly the way as it was when they removed the rail system. Only difference is that they laid the asphalt to make it easier to walk!

Camillus

Erie Canalway Trail is just 12 miles from Jordan. This is just one part of the 275-mile stretch of the Rails-to-Trails system. There are a few gaps along the way, but this is the section that flows seamlessly. You’ll enjoy the same views you would have seen from the rail line that ran through this area in the 1800s. You can take a quick stroll, just to get some exercise. Or, you could spend the afternoon exploring the whole area, a little at a time. It is open all year long. Just be sure to keep your dog on his leash, and bring some water and cleanup baggies.

Baldwinsville

Twelve miles is never too far to drive to get great food in an even better atmosphere. Mohegan Manor has such a wide selection of food, offering everything from sushi to burgers, that you’re sure to find something that will leave you and Fido both begging for more. The garden section is the only section where dogs can join their owners. It fills up really fast, especially on the weekends, so please make sure you call in advance to arrange the seating. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly for everyone, fur babies included. Come find your new favorite dish!
