Dog Walking in Grove City

Grove City, Ohio, is a suburban city located at a 20-minute drive from Columbus but started out as a small farming community. The frontier town transformed to a modern city as Grove City gradually became less isolated. There are, however, still many natural marvels to behold in and around Grove City, including the Battelle Darby Creek.

The best way to explore the beautiful sceneries in the Grove City area is to follow one of the trails that lead through the parks. The Wagtail Trail is interesting for dog owners in particular as this 1.6-mile track plows through forests, wetlands, meadows and prairies and dogs do not have to be on a leash as long as they are on this trail.

Grove City, Ohio, also recently received its very own off-leash dog park: Breck Community Park. This splendid dog park offers not one or two but four enclosed play areas for dogs to play in, including areas that are specifically designed for small dogs. The park has its own water fountain, and there is a pavilion that provides shelter from the rain or hot sun.

Finding a place to stay when visiting Grove City, Ohio, with pets is a breeze. There are several hotels that offer pet-friendly rooms, including the Red Roof Inn, La Quinta Inn, Best Western, Executive Inn, Days Inn, Drury Inn & Suites and Motel 6.

Breck Community Park is a pawsome dog park to take your pup to for some great off-leash fun. The park is separated by large and small breeds, and both entrances have dual gates to help keep your dog safe. This park is unique though because it has separate areas in each park. The large section has four gated fields, while the small has two. The park is mainly grass, and has water for both people and dogs, and restrooms. The only downside to the park is the lack of shade, so be prepared on a sunny day just in case.

The Battelle-Darby Creek Metro Park is a great park to take your pup for some awesome trail walking and off-leash fun. The park was especially made for dogs and the city even packed the ground to make walking on it safer. There is a fenced in area of the park with a pond that your dog can run around and explore off-leash, but in all other areas of the park, they ask for your dog to remain on-leash. The park is open when the weather permits, but if it rains or snows, they close it for the safety of the dogs and their owners. Be prepared to see wild animals wandering around too, as the park is known for the buffalos that walk around it.

The park is covered with shade from the trees, and there is even a separate fenced in area that includes a pond for your dogs to splash around in. The park has paved trails for you to walk on with your dog, and provides an agility course for the dogs to run around on. They also have picnic tables underneath a gazebo, and a water fountain for the dogs to stay hydrated.

About ten minutes out of Grove City is the Three Creeks Dog Park at Sycamore Fields In the town of Groveport. This amazing dog park is separated by large and small breeds, has water fountains, clean-up bags, and trails for your dog to explore all off-leash. The park is mainly grass and huge, so there is plenty of space for running, rolling, and playing fetch. There are a few benches for people to sit down on, but be prepared on hot days since there isn’t any trees to help provide shade. Locals love how clean the park is!
