When you want to get out and explore nature with your furry friend, head west over Darby Creek to Pleasant Valley Area - Battelle Darby Creek Park. This natural area has dog-friendly sections that include three hiking trails of varying lengths and a canine swimming area. Take a walk through the woods and go fishing in the small lake here. Remember to keep your pal on a leash and to pick up any waste. You'll need to bring your own water when you visit this pupful undeveloped area.

The small neighborhood of Hillcrest Acres is directly north of Orient. This rural community features a some private residences and farmland. You and Fido will be able to take a leisurely stroll along country roads here. When you want to enjoy a walk and picnic in the park, head north about five miles to Fryer Park on Orders Road. Dogs are welcome in this 110-acre facility that boasts a wildlife viewing area, a mile-long walking trail, and a turn-of-the-century historic village. Go for a walk or jog here with your pup.You can also bring along a pole and do some catch and release fishing while your special pal lounges by your side.

Surrounded by farmland and forest, the neighborhood of Meadow Ridge is a remote community that features private residences. Here, you and your canine pal can walk along quiet streets and country roads. When you want to spend some time exploring nature with your furry friend, head two miles west to the Osprey Lake Area - Batelle Darby Creek Park. This undeveloped woodland features a half-mile hiking trail, a dog swimming area, and a canoe-accessible lake. Take a walk through the woods or cast out onto water with your special buddy. Timberlake

Timberlake is a small residential development located about 2.7 miles north of Orient. Here, you and your pup can walk along peaceful streets that surround Timber Lake and two ponds. When you want to give your furry pal a special treat, take a drive about seven miles north to Breck Community Park. This off-leash facility has four fenced areas where dogs can romp and play together. There's a central pavilion with water fountains for you and your pal to get some refreshment. You and your canine companion are free to use the park from dawn to dusk. Remember to clean up after your pooch.

A small community with private residences and businesses, the neighborhood of Harrisburg is a peaceful area for dogs and their owners. This suburban region is in the midst of wooded areas, farmland, and a large natural area. When you want to get out and explore an outdoor paradise, head south about 14 miles to Deer Creek State Park. Here, you and your pooch can pick from seven hiking trails that range in length from .25-mile to 2.5 miles, or you can try the 17-mile bridle path. Leashed dogs are permitted on the trails and in the campsites here, but not in any cabins or swimming areas.
