Canal Winchester is a suburb of Columbus, located at the convergence of Franklin and Fairfield counties. This medium-populated city is extremely pet-friendly, with 4 vets and 2 pawesome restaurants where you can dine with Fido. The landscape is a wonderful blend of both natural beauty and urban convenience, with Canal Winchester being only 45 minutes outside of Columbus.

Your pup can enjoy some of this natural scenery while taking a trip back in time at Slate Run Park and Historical Farm. This site offers a unique opportunity to get some exercise with your canine companion and learn the rich history of the estate. Here, pups have their own walking trail where they can take a leashed stroll through the farm and gardens. Together you can watch staff, clad in traditional attire, go about daily farm duties — just like they did in 1856.

If your fur-iend is looking for a trail with a little more difficulty, check out the Canal Winchester Trail. This 4.8-mile asphalt rail-trail is great for walking, but is also popular for biking, skating, and even skiing. The best part? The path is wheelchair accessible, so no one has to miss out!
