The southeastern community of Columbus, Ohio known as Shady Lane is about 20 miles from Millersport, and this is where you'll find Big Walnut Park. This spacious city park includes sports fields, playgrounds, and an off-leash dog park! The dog park has an all dogs section, as well as a separate small dog area. The Big Walnut Dog Park is an enclosed three-acre space with a double-gated entryway to prevent any escape artist pups from making a break for it. There's also lighting in the park if you plan to visit late in the day, and the park is open from 7 AM to 11 PM.

Granville Village

The Granville Village Dog Park in Wildwood is less than a 20-minute drive north of Millersport in western Granville, Ohio. In addition to the dog park, Wildwood Park is home to playgrounds, gardens, sports fields, and picnic facilities, and it provides access to a path that's excellent for walking dogs. The dog park is one enclosed section that doesn't separate dogs by weight, but there is paw-lenty of room for all dogs to play safely. This park tends to be quiet because many people don't know about it, but there's plenty of fun to be had! Be sure to bring your own drinking water, bowl, and doggy bags when you visit.

East Pickerington

The Violet Township Dog Park is only a 15-minute drive from Millersport in eastern Pickerington, Ohio. This large off-leash park is the pawfect place to let your dog burn off some steam. There are separate sections for big and small dogs in this park with different entrances, and there are picnic tables and benches for pet parents to relax on as well. During the warmer months of the year, there's running water, but be sure to bring your own water in the winter. The Violet Township Dog Park also provides visitors with doggy bags, and visitors love how scenic and peaceful this park is.

Century Acres

If you drive about half an hour west of Millersport, you'll end up in southwest Groveport, Ohio. Right outside the Century Acres neighborhood, you'll find Walnut Woods MetroPark, a 1,098-acre park with activities for the entire family to enjoy. There are trails for biking, hiking, or walking your dog on a leash in the park, as well as fishing, canoeing, and picnicking opportunities. Walnut Woods MetroPark also has its own off-leash dog park! This four-acre dog park has a three-acre section for big dogs and a one-acre small dog section. There is also an enclosed swimming area for dogs, as well as drinking water and agility equipment.

Brewery District

Columbus is home to another excellent off-leash park, and this one is about half an hour from Millersport, in the Brewery District area. The Scioto Audubon MetroPark is a 120-acre recreational and educational facility. In addition to a dog park, Scioto Audubon has biking, boating, fishing, rock climbing activities, and plenty more. The dog park has a section where dogs of all sizes can play together, as well as a separate small dog area. There's also plenty of agility equipment, seating, waste disposal supplies, and water in the park. Some visitors say there isn't much shade in the dog park, so keep that in mind if you visit on a hot day.
