“I treat every dog like my own!”
I’ve been dog walking for a year and a half, I have been dog sitting and boarding for several years. I own 3 dogs myself and have always loved animals. I especially love the bully breeds and big dogs. The dogs that are more difficult are my speciality! Every dog I walk is treated like my own and I take the time to get to know their personality by the time our walk is over. I love my job walking your dogs and can guarantee a worn out pup when we get back!

“Pup need a potty break? I got this!”
Hi, it's Tracy, your friendly WAG! walker here. I’ve been walking with WAG! for 3 years now. It’s definitely the most fun/rewarding job ever! I love meeting all the new dogs and taking them on an adventure (that’s dog speak for walk...lol). I also volunteer walking dogs at Columbus Humane (over 10 years) and that's where I adopted my two Chihuahuas. I know you cherish your fur babies and I will take care of them as if they were my own. I can’t wait to meet and get to know them!

Hi, my name is Sue and there is nothing more I enjoy than spending time with dogs! When I was little I brought home all the homeless dogs, as an adult I continue with that behavior. I have spent the last 30+ years owning dogs and the last 20 years involved with animals rescue through breed specific organizations and Humane Societies. I have fostered and rehabilitated many dogs of numerous breeds and personalities, some who loved everyone, some who could not trust anyone. Each dog I meet I recognize as an individual. My walks focus on what they enjoy and what you request. I am fortunate to be able to finally do what I love, provide superb care and love to your dog while you are at work or away! Thank you.

If I were asked what makes me the most happy in this world, I would answer with "dogs," without hesitation. There's just something about the smile on a dog's face that brings me utter joy. I have been working with dogs professionally since I was 16, and wish I had started sooner. I have dealt with animals under stressful situations: from hyperactivity, to refusal of cooperation/stubbornness, to literal life or death occurrences, so I know that I can handle any personality that gets thrown at me!

On the western border of Columbus’ Brewery District, you’ll find the Scioto Audobon Metro Dog Park, located within Scioto Audobon Metro Park. This scenic park offers gorgeous views of the Scioto River, as well as plenty of activities for you and your pooch! The designated off-leash dog area is complete with fun agility equipment to give your pal a good workout. After you’re finished frolicking in the dog park, leash up your pal and take a walk on the nature trails within the larger community park. Don’t fur-get to bring along some water and waste bags, as neither is provided here. Afterward, head into the Brewery District to find some great Fido-friendly restaurants!
Victorian Village is home to Goodale Park. This small community park is the pawfect place for your pooch to explore nature and make some fur-iends. Since this isn’t a designated dog park, you’ll need to keep your pup on a leash and bring the necessary supplies, including water and waste bags. Goodale Park is pawpular with both resident and visiting dog owners, and offers a few walking trails to explore. Locals advise that this park can get very muddy in bad weather, so be sure to bring something to clean your pup’s fur. Not in the mood for exercise? Stop by Bakersfield, a Mexican restaurant located close to the park. Leashed dogs are welcome at outdoor tables.
Hankering for a hike with your hound? You’ll find the perfect place to enjoy a nice walk with your pup just outside the Merion Village neighborhood, on the other side of the Scioto River. The Lower Scioto Greenway was a former rail line which has since been converted into a furrific walking trail by the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy. This trail is 10.5 miles long and offers some beautiful views of the river The trail is mostly asphalt so you will want to make sure it does not get too hot for your pooch’s paws. There are shaded areas along the way, but you will want to bring some water for you and your pup. Your pooch will need to be on their leash, so grab it and head on out to see how much of the trail you can conquer!
The majority of the Columbus’ Whetstone neighborhood is taken up by Whetstone Park, a large community park which is more than happy to welcome leashed pooches! The official dog policy at Whetstone Park dictates that all dogs must remain on-leash while here. Locals advise that dogs can play off-leash down by the creek at the park; however, this area is not fenced, so your pooch should respond well to voice commands. Use your best judgment -- if in doubt, keep your pup on a leash so everyone plays safely! And don’t forget to bring all the necessities, like drinking water, waste bags, and your pup’s favorite ball.
The Don Scott neighborhood is an expansive area in Columbus which is home to the Ohio State University Airport. In the far eastern part of the neighborhood, you’ll find Godown Park, which has an off-leash area for your pooch to play! Godown Dog Park is a fenced, off-leash park which has plenty of room and two separate areas for your pup to make some new fur-iends. Water is available, but you’ll need to bring some waste bags. Agility equipment in the dog park adds some extra fun to playtime! Leashed dogs are welcome to enjoy a walk outside the off-leash area with their owners.
