Seal Rock is a small community in Lincoln County. In days gone by, Seal Rock was the final stop for the Corvallis & Yaquina Bay Wagon Road, the first road to reach the Oregon coast from the Willamette Valley. Today, this laid back dog friendly coastal village is a prime spot to soak in the beauty of the Oregon Coast. Although, Seal Rock doesn’t have its own veterinary clinic, canine care is just a quick 15 minutes away in Newport.

Since you and your pup will want to spend a couple nights here, make a reservation at one of the pet friendly private rentals in town. The Coastal Jewel at Seal Rock is charming oceanfront home that has access to miles of sandy beach and front row seats to the stunning Pacific Ocean sunsets. Driftwood Cottage is another pawsome option. Just steps away from the beach, this quaint home is the perfect place to get away from it all. Make a reservation at Seal Rock Beach Studio. Seal Rock State Park is only a block and a half from this cozy studio.

With such furrific hospitality and unbeatable scenery, it’s no wonder dogs love spending time in Seal Rock!

    #1 Central Seal Rock

You can’t come to Seal Rock without spending some time at Seal Rock State Recreation Site. Known for its abundant sea life and unique rock formations, this beach will definitely captivate your pup. A short paved path leads to a viewing platform. Stop here to enjoy the view before continuing down to the sandy beach. Wander around the surf and let your pooch dip his paws in the ocean. During low tide, be sure to check out the tide pools. You’ll see starfish, anemones, and other creatures. Castle Rock can also be reached when the tide is out. Needless to say, you dog will love this place!

Here you’ll find five miles of trails just waiting to be explored. The Beaver Creek Loop Trail is the main trail. It gives you a great tour of the wetlands. Follow Snaggy Point Trail to the highest point in the park. From the top, your pooch will have a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean.
