Southeast Block Island
The Mohegan Bluffs is a fun area to explore with your four-legged friend and a great area to get a beautiful view while you hike. Located 200-feet above the sea, this three-mile bluff gives you a great opportunity to get some exercise in while you visit. There is a staircase that you can use to climb to the top of the bluff, plus the Block Island Heritage Trail starts at the Mohegan Bluffs. The trail is 6.9-miles long with a 12-foot elevation gain on an out and back route. Make sure while you are visiting this area to keep your dog on a leash the entire time.36

South Block Island
Take your pup to the Black Rock Beach to dip his paws in the water and feel the sand between his toes. This beautiful beach welcomes your leashed dog to have a great time enjoying the ocean with you and getting a lovely walk in along the coastline. The beach offers awesome coves and rocks that allow the two of you to go on an amazing hike together. Locals warn not to swim at this beach since it is filled with large dark rocks that makes swimming difficult. Make sure you bring your clean-up bags with you to this beautiful beach.24

Northeast Block Island
Northeast Block Island is filled with numerous beaches that you and Fido can relax on. The Scotch Beach offers plenty of sand to walk along and is a major stopping point for people out on their boat. The Crescent Beach is the starting point of all the beaches along the east coast of Black Island. It connects to both Surf Beach and Baby Beach where you can walk for over two miles along the coast and get a great walk in with your dog. Make sure to keep your pup on a leash regardless of what beach you are on. Note that dogs are not allowed on the popular Frederick J. Benson Pavilion Beach nearby.12

North Block Island
Legion Park is a lovely small park to visit if Fido is over the beach and would rather have grass between his toes. The park is covered in trees to help provide shade, plus there are a few grassy hills the two of you can run up. There is no paved walking path to walk on, but there is still plenty of grass that you can walk along and a nice pond where you can stop for water. Next door to Legion Park is Veterans Park which offers a little history of Rhode Island and a memorial for fallen soliders.
