“Here for you, and your furry friends!”
Hello! My name is Carly and I am a current senior and microbiology major at URI. I have always had a love for dogs and animals in general. I have 3 dogs back at home, one which has special needs. I have over 10 years of experience in dog care and I am familiar with a good amount of training methods. As a walker for your dog, I will treat your pet with the same love and care as i would provide for one of my own dogs.

“Responsible animal caregiver”
I am an avid animal lover, and have owned dogs, cats, and horses myself. My most recent dog was a chihuahua-pug-cocker spaniel mix who loved everyone. I have both walked dogs for friends as well as house sat for dogs, cats, and horses. Animals have always approached me, feeling comfortable with my easy attitude.

Block Island sits off the coast of Rhode Island in the Atlantic Ocean. This small town is known for its sandy beaches, such as the popular Crescent Beach. The island has a lighthouse that sits on top of the clay cliffs of the Mohegan Bluffs, and there are a few great trails you and Fido can go check out. While there are no veterinarians on Block Island, there is one in Wakefield you can visit.
Enjoy the Ball O'Brien Park with your furry pal by your side. The park offers a large playground, skate park, tennis courts, and basketball courts for your enjoyment. There is a picnic area with grills and a covered picnic pavilion that you and your pup can relax at, plus restrooms. Your dog will love running up the grassy hills of this park or taking a nice walk around it.
Grab a bite to eat at The National Hotel Tap and Grill. This pawsome restaurant offers a beautiful view of the ocean, and has a menu with lunch and dinner options. Their waitstaff is dog-friendly and will bring a refreshing bowl of water out to your pup while you dine on their outdoor patio.
Your dog will love spending time on this beautiful island with you.
The Mohegan Bluffs is a fun area to explore with your four-legged friend and a great area to get a beautiful view while you hike. Located 200-feet above the sea, this three-mile bluff gives you a great opportunity to get some exercise in while you visit. There is a staircase that you can use to climb to the top of the bluff, plus the Block Island Heritage Trail starts at the Mohegan Bluffs. The trail is 6.9-miles long with a 12-foot elevation gain on an out and back route. Make sure while you are visiting this area to keep your dog on a leash the entire time.
Take your pup to the Black Rock Beach to dip his paws in the water and feel the sand between his toes. This beautiful beach welcomes your leashed dog to have a great time enjoying the ocean with you and getting a lovely walk in along the coastline. The beach offers awesome coves and rocks that allow the two of you to go on an amazing hike together. Locals warn not to swim at this beach since it is filled with large dark rocks that makes swimming difficult. Make sure you bring your clean-up bags with you to this beautiful beach.
Northeast Block Island is filled with numerous beaches that you and Fido can relax on. The Scotch Beach offers plenty of sand to walk along and is a major stopping point for people out on their boat. The Crescent Beach is the starting point of all the beaches along the east coast of Black Island. It connects to both Surf Beach and Baby Beach where you can walk for over two miles along the coast and get a great walk in with your dog. Make sure to keep your pup on a leash regardless of what beach you are on. Note that dogs are not allowed on the popular Frederick J. Benson Pavilion Beach nearby.
Legion Park is a lovely small park to visit if Fido is over the beach and would rather have grass between his toes. The park is covered in trees to help provide shade, plus there are a few grassy hills the two of you can run up. There is no paved walking path to walk on, but there is still plenty of grass that you can walk along and a nice pond where you can stop for water. Next door to Legion Park is Veterans Park which offers a little history of Rhode Island and a memorial for fallen soliders.
West Beach is a more secluded beach that you and Fido can roam around if you don't like crowded beaches. Although this beach isn't ideal for swimming, it is still a great beach to walk along and get a good day of exercise in together. This beach leads to the North Lighthouse, and there are a few hilly areas that will make for a nice hike along the way. Make sure to keep your dog on a leash while at this beach, and don't forget to bring your clean-up bags along with you.
