My name is Taylor and I am 19 years old. I attend Mount Ida College. I was originally a Vet-Tech major, but I recently switched to Business Administration. I’ve grown up around animals, especially dogs. I have three dogs at home, a beagle, a corgi, and a Bernese Mountain dog as well as a Holland Lop Bunny. Our corgi is an epileptic, so we have to take special precautions to make sure he is happy and healthy. I’d love to help families who are at home to let their dogs out or walk them so that their dogs can stay happy and healthy as well. I have a passion for animals And being around them brings me joy.

“A Dog is a Girls Best Friend!!”

Hello, my name is Brianna! I'm 22 years old. I grew up in a small town near Philadelphia, PA with my adorable Beagle named Cassie. Aside from caring for my family's dog, I began dog sitting for family and friends when I was about 13. Over the years I've watched a wide variety of dogs—and I've loved caring for and spending time with each one of them. I look forward to getting out and active with your dog, and giving your pup as much joy and puppy-love as they give me!

Hi My name is Jack Ryan, and I’m so excited to be your next dog walker! It all started on my first day of 1st grade when my parents arrived at home with a brand new puppy! Our first puppy was the first time I knew I wanted to find a career path with animals. I have never been the same since! I have grown up with animals my entire life. Caring for animals has been my life-long ambition. In addition to caring for my personal pets, I am a full time student at University of Rhode Island. I plan to pursue my interest in dog walking this summer in the big apple! Please feel free to reach out to me if there are any questions about my wag experience and animal care experience. I can’t wait to meet you and your adorable fur ball.

Dog Walking in Westerly

Westerly is a charming beachfront community in Washington County. During the dog days of summer, people come from all over to enjoy the gorgeous white sandy beaches. But the town’s natural beauty isn’t the only benefit for resident pups. There are two veterinary clinics that assist in keeping local canines in tip top shape.

Westerly Town Forest is a great place to spend some time with your four legged friend. Sitting right on the banks of the Pawcatuck River, this beautiful wooded area has three trails ranging from .80 miles to 1.25 miles. Your pal will absolutely love getting some exercise in such a puptastic setting.

With nearly a dozen pet friendly restaurants in town, there’s no need to leave your pooch home when you feel like dining out. Head over to Bridge for a perfect combination of beautiful scenery and delicious food. Sit at the dog friendly patio and enjoy views of the Pawcatuck River while munching on fresh, local seafood. The Haversham Tavern is another option. This 19thcentury tavern serves up classics with a twist. Dine al fresco with your pooch at one of the outdoor tables.

With such pawsome restaurants, and beautiful outdoor spaces, it’s no wonder dogs feel welcome in Westerly.

Immerse yourself in Westerly’s seafront beauty with a trip to Napatree Point Conservation Point. Gaze out at the Atlantic Ocean and Narragansett Bay while walking along the beach with your furry BFF. She’ll feel the sand beneath her paws while breathing in the salty air. Take a break from the seashore and follow the trails through the sandy dunes. This bit of paradise does have some dog regulations. During the peak season of May 2 through Labor Day, pups cannot visit the area between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.  But, fur-tunately, from Labor Day to May 1, four legged guests are welcome at any time.

The picturesque park surrounds a 19th century library and features walkways, memorials, and a large variety of trees and shrubs. Take a stroll through the colorful Native Gardens, then guide your pup over to the Friends Perennial Garden. Before heading home, stop by Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt for a post- walk refreshment. If your dog is craving some time in nature, grab his leash and head over to Dr. John Champlin Glacier Park. Not only is this park a pupperific spot for some exercise, it is also a hot bed for unique geological features. A two mile network of trails lets you get a firsthand look at glacial ridges and boulders, kettle ponds, and carved canyons.  There are some steep ascents, so make sure your pal is up for the challenge. Also, since water is not available at the trailhead, you’ll need to bring enough to keep you and your four legged hiking buddy fully hydrated.

For an easy but gorgeous walk, take your canine companion over to Avondale Farm Preserve. Here you’ll find open meadows full of wildflowers, grasses and shrubs. Stonewalls wind throughout the property, adding some extra charm. Warm up your pal’s four legs with a stroll around the half mile paved path. Then head out on the grassy side trails. He’ll love breathing in the fresh air as he cruises through this beautiful park. This natural space is a perfect bird and butterfly habitat, so keep your eyes peeled for the winged creatures. Westerly Town Beach is one of the most pup-ular spots in town, especially during the peak summer season. Locals and out of towners love to relax on the white sand while enjoying views of the Atlantic. As with other town beaches, four legged guests are allowed, but need to follow certain guidelines. During summer, or May 2 through Labor Day, pups cannot visit the area between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.  From Labor Day to May 1, four legged guests can splash in the waves at any time. So bring your pooch over and let her feel ocean breeze fun through her fur.  She’ll be one happy hound!
