Watch Hill
Immerse yourself in Westerly’s seafront beauty with a trip to Napatree Point Conservation Point. Gaze out at the Atlantic Ocean and Narragansett Bay while walking along the beach with your furry BFF. She’ll feel the sand beneath her paws while breathing in the salty air. Take a break from the seashore and follow the trails through the sandy dunes. This bit of paradise does have some dog regulations. During the peak season of May 2 through Labor Day, pups cannot visit the area between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. But, fur-tunately, from Labor Day to May 1, four legged guests are welcome at any time.

Westerly Town Center
Wilcox Park combines history, stunning scenery, and lush gardens. Oh, and it’s the perfect place for a little doggy cardio. Grab a leash and head over to discover one of Westerly’s community gems. The picturesque park surrounds a 19th century library and features walkways, memorials, and a large variety of trees and shrubs. Take a stroll through the colorful Native Gardens, then guide your pup over to the Friends Perennial Garden. Before heading home, stop by Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt for a post- walk refreshment. Get your froyo to go, or hang out at one of the patio tables with your pooch.

Chin Hill
If your dog is craving some time in nature, grab his leash and head over to Dr. John Champlin Glacier Park. Not only is this park a pupperific spot for some exercise, it is also a hot bed for unique geological features. A two mile network of trails lets you get a firsthand look at glacial ridges and boulders, kettle ponds, and carved canyons. There are some steep ascents, so make sure your pal is up for the challenge. Also, since water is not available at the trailhead, you’ll need to bring enough to keep you and your four legged hiking buddy fully hydrated.

Avondale
For an easy but gorgeous walk, take your canine companion over to Avondale Farm Preserve. Here you’ll find open meadows full of wildflowers, grasses and shrubs. Stonewalls wind throughout the property, adding some extra charm. Warm up your pal’s four legs with a stroll around the half mile paved path. Then head out on the grassy side trails. He’ll love breathing in the fresh air as he cruises through this beautiful park. This natural space is a perfect bird and butterfly habitat, so keep your eyes peeled for the winged creatures. No doubt about it, this walk will make his tail wag!

Misquamicut
Westerly Town Beach is one of the most pup-ular spots in town, especially during the peak summer season. Locals and out of towners love to relax on the white sand while enjoying views of the Atlantic. As with other town beaches, four legged guests are allowed, but need to follow certain guidelines. During summer, or May 2 through Labor Day, pups cannot visit the area between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. From Labor Day to May 1, four legged guests can splash in the waves at any time. So bring your pooch over and let her feel ocean breeze fun through her fur. She’ll be one happy hound!
