Goat Island Park and Greenway offers you and your family a chance to get out and stretch your legs. You can fill your lungs full of fresh air as you walk the many trails here. Take your little one to play on the playground. Right next to the playground is a small dog park area. It is completely fenced in so that you can let your dog off his leash and let him play. There is no running water, so you will need to bring your own. This park is about a 30-minute drive from you.

Crowder s View

Crowder's Lake Trail is part of the trail system in the Crowder Mountain State Park. While there are lots of other trails of varying difficulty, this trail is easy, and you and your pup can probably complete it in about twenty minutes. There is no running water at this park, so you will need to bring your own water and water dish. You will also need to keep your dog on a leash while you enjoy your walk, but with all the new sights and smells, he is sure to enjoy it. It will take you less than half an hour to drive here.

Hilton Pond

Hilton Pond Center is full of educational fun for the whole family. You can bring your dog along to some activities, like the nature scavenger hunt or the long walk through the trails. All visits are scheduled by appointment. If you want to see the cute little owls, or the even cuter baby deer, all you need to do is go to the website and take the virtual tour! Then you're welcome to book an appointment. All of this fun is open all year round, and is only about ten minutes from Sharon. So grab some good walking shoes and come explore!

Whitewater Center

Are you looking for somewhere to unwind and see the city? It is almost an hour drive to Charlotte, but The Whitewater Center has just the place for you to relax. The River's Edge Bar and Grill have plenty of outside seating for you to bring your pup and enjoy watching kayakers ride the water. They are welcome on all of the bottom level eating areas. They almost always have a live band or something going on. The food is mouthwatering. Grab a drink and chill with friends or make it a date for just you and your pup.

Winthrop University

Right across from Winthrop University, approximately 25 miles from Sharon, you will find Sister Fine American Cuisine. You can get all your favorites from pulled pork to hummus. All of the chips are made in-house. While you are here, grab a draft beer. Your pup can join you on any of the deck seating. Not in the mood for dinner? That's okay; they're open for breakfast and brunch, too! The selection is huge so you and Fido are sure to find something you like. You'll leave with a full belly and a happy soul. What could be better than that?
