Telfair
It has been said that sushi is an acquired taste, but if you want to join your dog in a traditional Japanese meal, you finally have the chance. Fifteen miles from Whaley Corner is Japaneiro's. This is a place that has been around for a little over a decade. They feature traditional sushi and delicious meals that are traditionally Japanese. The outdoor tables are a comfortable place to join your dog and enjoy some people-watching. You can share your food with Fido, or even order him a meal of his very own! The staff is very fur-iendly, too.

Everyone loves a little shady spot to play in the sun, and that is exactly what makes Pawm Springs Dog Park such a terrific place. Fido can come and run and play with his fur buddies, or play fetch with you within the safety of the gated area. It is only fifteen miles from Whaley Corner to Sugar Land, making it a great place to get away to. While you are here, there are water stations to make sure you and your dog stay hydrated, as well as a rinse station to get your pal’s paws clean before you get back in the car to head home.

Quail Valley
Community Park is a pawtastic place for you and your family, both the two and four-legged ones, to come and spend the day. It is a 20-mile drive to get here, but the drive will be well worth it! You will need to keep your dog on his leash, but he probably won’t mind. Amenities within the park include walking trails that Fido can explore with you on leash, a playground for the kids, and even a lake! You could pack a picnic or even feed the ducks while your furry friend barks at them. There is so much to do that you will be begging to come back!

Downtown
Yes, Houston is quite a drive at an hour away, but there is so much for you and your dog to do here together that is well worth the long drive. There are lots of dog-friendly restaurants. There are a couple of dog parks. However, there is one thing that you won’t be able to get anywhere else. That is Market Square Park. The central lawn always has something fun going on, even live music on the weekends. You can walk the trails along the area, visit the arch and learn some history, or just play on the dog run.

Friendswood
A little over forty miles lies a comfortable family restaurant called King's Biergarten. It is just the right place to go to find a touch of Germany in Texas. They allow you to bring the whole family, including the furry members, to feast on traditional German fare. From brats to kraut and everything in between, you will find all your favorites, or maybe even find a new favorite. The outside tables are the perfect place to dine and watch the people as they pass by. They have live music on the weekends for you to tap your foot to.
