The theatre usually hosts pet-friendly events that include movies with a plot revolving around pets! If you're there for Halloween, you can enjoy the annual pet costume contest and have pawlenty of fun! Make sure that your pooch is properly leashed if you go there, and keep in mind that a lot of doggos and kittens visit the place, so make sure your dog plays well with other furry friends!

Front Royal Town Center
The closest dog park to Huntly is the Warren County Dog Park in Front Royal. You would have to travel just 9 miles in order to visit this hidden gem. The park welcomes all doggos that are properly vaccinated and licensed. The secure fence around the park and the shade that the trees provide make this park very pleasant for the pets and their parents! If you have a pooch that's smaller in size, this is the pawfect place for them to play -- there are separate areas for smaller and larger puppers. This very well-maintained park has mostly grass in both of the doggie areas. If you decide to give it a shot, bring poop baggies and fresh water!

Boyce
The State Arboretum of Virginia is a place that you absolutely have to visit while you're in the area. It's located in Boyce, just 23 miles from Huntly. The beauty that you will find there makes it well worth visiting -- you can enjoy open areas, mesmerizing meadows, and even two lakes! There are plenty of other sites to explore as well, including historic buildings, old slave quarters, botanical gardens, and more! Doggos are welcome with you on a couple of the trails, and the best part is that, as long as they are well-behaved, you're allowed to let them off leash! Shenandoah University
Close to Shenandoah University in Winchester, you can visit another dog park: Winchester Dog Park at Jim Barnett Park. You'd have to travel around 30 miles from Huntly to get there, but the trip will be well worth it! The place is securely fenced so your pup can blow off some steam and sniff out some new pup pals. You can only enter the park with a member's key. You can either purchase the park membership if you're planning on visiting often, or you can buy daily visitor passes if you're just passing through and your pooch needs a place to run for a bit.

Syria
The ruffly 40-mile distance to Shenandoah National Park will be well worth it once you see the stunning scenic views that the park has to offer! Especially the Rose River Falls Loop trail, where your pooch can accompany you as long as you have them properly leashed. The place is filled with streams and waterfalls where doggos can swim and splash around. The area is fairly shaded thanks to the rich flora that this pawesome place offers. The trails are not too difficult, but they are challenging enough to provide plenty of exercise both for you and your dear four-legged friend! Bring waste baggies to keep this gorgeous space clean and green.
