From the age of 9, I began volunteering at the local animal shelter cleaning pens and walking dogs as well as participating in obedience trainings with my own dogs. I currently own 6 dogs; 3 energetic Jack Russell terriers, 1 feisty yet sensistive Chihuahua, 1 rambunctious Labradoodle puppy and a very loyal and endearing Pug; with my mother who helps share the care and responsibility of our precious pups. I have years of experience, patience and joy walking all breeds of dogs large and small.

Hi, I'm Madeline! I've had all sorts of pets throughout my life, including a dog, cats, a turtle, rats, and a hedgehog. Helping take care of all these animals and pet sitting and dog walking for neighbors and family friends have helped me learn how to understand the wants and needs of animals. I'm looking forward to meeting your pets!

Dog Walking in Camano

Just an hour north of Seattle, and two hours south of Vancouver, lies the beautiful Camano Island in Puget Sound. Pawfect for a relaxing day trip or weekend getaway, Camano Island offers visitors plenty to do, minus the tourist traps. Travelers with canine companions can explore the island worry-free, for there is one veterinary clinic ensuring the well-being of the community's furry residents and visitors.

Step back in time and slow down with Fido at the Cama Beach Historical State Park! This restored 1930s family resort contains 15 miles of hiking trails that let you and your pooch enjoy the natural beauty of the area. Other available activities include swimming, diving, toy boat building, and wildlife viewing. If an overnight stay in this 486-acre waterfront location sounds good, you'll be pleased to know that a few of the park's historic cabins welcome pets.

Connected to the Cama Beach Historical State Park by a mile-long trail is the 244-acre Camano Island State Park. A mellower alternative to Cama Beach, the Camano Island State Park offers 3 miles of hiking trails, boat ramps, picnic areas, a campground, and cabin rentals. Only one cabin allows pets for an extra fee, so be sure to call first to confirm availability. Note that a Discover Pass is required for day visits to both state parks.

Experience pawthentic island life with Fido on Camano Island!

Formerly private property, the 50-acre Four Springs Lake Preserve is now a beautiful county park that's open to the public. Enjoy the natural surroundings as you and your pooch go for a leashed stroll on the wooded trails that meander around a small lake, open meadow area, and multiple streams. A private rental space that includes the Four Springs House, a popular venue for weddings and other events, can also be found on-site. The Henry Hollow Off-Leash Dog Park is a newly opened, 7-acre site where the community's canines can exercise and play in a safe environment. With separate areas for large and small dogs, this fully fenced dog park offers high-energy pups plenty of room to romp unfettered. Pick-up bags and trash receptacles are provided to make cleaning up after Fido easy. All dogs using the park must be licensed, vaccinated, and kept on-leash until they are inside the fenced area. Tucked on the northeastern edge of the island, the English Boom Historical Park was once part of the area's thriving timber industry. Today, it is a peaceful spot where visitors can get close to nature, take quiet walks, and go birdwatching. Dogs are welcome as long as they stay on-leash and are cleaned up after. Take your best friend for a stroll on the waterfront trail and enjoy the puptastic views of Puget Sound and Mount Baker. To learn more about the history of the area, stop by the interpretive signage next to the picnic shelter. Be sure to bring sunscreen as shade is limited.

For an outing that's off the beaten path, head to the Iverson Spit Waterfront Preserve. This hidden gem, though a bit hard to find, is definitely worth the trip. Iverson Spit offers hiking, beachcombing, skimboarding, and birdwatching, all for free! Frolic in the sand and among driftwood with your pup, or step onto the Hobbit Trail and be transported into a different world as you and Fido make your way through moss-covered trees and bushes. The trail then ends at a canal with furrific views of Puget Sound. Doggos are allowed at the Iverson Spit Waterfront Preserve, provided they are leashed and licensed.
