Arlington, Washington is a short 5.5-mile drive south of Pilchuck and rests along the junction where the Stillaguamish River, the North Fork Stillaguamish River, and the South Fork Stillaguamish River meet. Country Charm Park allows on-leash dogs to sniff and stroll the 100 acres of fresh air and open spaces that includes access to camping, hiking trails, a community garden, fishing and last but not least, an off-leash dog park! Haller Park and Twin Rivers Parks are other areas you can take your leashed dog for a leisurely stroll or quick bathroom break in the neighborhood, and Whitehorse Tavern is the place to dine when you have your pooch in tow!

North Marysville is easy to get to; it is located near the Arlington Municipal Airport and Interstate 5. The 72-acre Strawberry Fields Athletic Complex has sidewalks and open grass areas you can walk leashed dogs and a fun off-leash dog park for more social and adventurous pups! It features 3 acres of agility courses, picnic tables, benches, drinking fountains, separate areas for large and small dogs, a fire hydrant, and poop bags! Centennial Trail is part of the national Rails-To-Trails project that converts wasted space that used to be railroads into exercise trails for locals.

A short 23-minute drive north west from Pilchuck, the city of Mt. Vernon is easily accessible from Interstate 5 and rests directly over the scenic Skagit River. Bakerview Dog Park is an entertaining off-leash space where your pooch can exercise and socialize with other local resident dogs. Includes picnic area, water, and a fun tunnel for your pooch to zip through! Good Neighbor Vet is a much-needed business that provides mobile and affordable animal healthcare, and it is known to hold events at the local Country Store in Mount Vernon, so be sure to check the dates if your fur baby is needing some TLC.

The extremely intimate, family-friendly city of Sedro-Woolley lies approximately 20 miles north of Pilchuck and directly off the Cascade Highway. North Cascades National Park is absolutely breathtaking with over 300 glaciers, forests and water features where you and on-leash dogs are welcome to climb, camp, hike and go backpacking! If you’re just in the mood for something simple, you and your pup should explore the Cascade Trail that used to be a former railroad, but is now the perfect place for an afternoon stroll. The Iron Skillet is the canine catering restaurant in town, and if you’re looking for dog-friendly lodging, Airbnb has providers that will accommodate you and your fur baby.

The beautiful neighborhood of Anacortes is 35 miles from Pilchuck, and is literally surrounded by water: the Padilla Bay to the east, Skagit Bay to the south, Strait of Juan de Fuea to the west, and Rosario Straight to the north! Ace of Hearts Rotary Dog Park is 1.5 acres of off-leash fun for your pooch that includes fun amenities like running water, a kiddie pool, gazebo, and separate areas for large and small dogs. For pups that aren’t fans of dog parks, the Tommy Thomson Trail is a great multipurpose trail where you can take your dog for a walk or jog!
