Introduction
Blue Beetle Inspired Dog Names In Pop Culture
First off, both Jaime and Wolf were considered enemies of the Team in various points of their lives. For Wolf, this happened when he first encountered the Team; at that point, Wolf was under the thrall of the villainous Monsieur Mallah and the Brain - two foes of the Doom Patrol. Wolf fought hard against the team until his masters were forced to retreat. Not really caring for the best much, Wolf was abandoned by Mallah and the Brain. Rather than exact vengeance on Wolf, the Team took pity on him. Superboy felt a sort of kinship with the creature and adopted him on the spot. In comparison, things smoothed over much more quickly for Wolf than for Jaime.
At one point in time, Jaime Reyes was considered to be a person of mass destruction by the Team and the Justice League. Remember the source of Jaime's powers - the Reach Scarab? We mentioned that it offers Jaime a wealth of powers but we didn't mention that said powers come at a price; the scarab has a tendency to try and take over Jaime's mind almost constantly. At first, the scarab would simply encourage Jaime to act on his baser impulses - fight rather than talk it out, force his way rather than compromise. Eventually, the scarab succeeded, nearly leading Jaime to herald an alien invasion by its creators - The Reach. The team helped Jaime become one with the scarab and the two have worked in unison ever since.
Jaime and Wolf have also worked in unison on numerous occasions, with the duo working in tandem with others like Superboy and Impulse. Though Wolf and Jaime don't hang out as much as Superboy and Wolf do, the two have been shown to be cool with one another whenever they've been shown together on screen.
Blue Beetle Inspired Dog Name Considerations
Another reason to give your dog a Blue Beetle inspired name would be if you're a huge admirer of the most recent man to don the mantle - Jaime Reyes. Whereas Reyes' predecessors were a secret agent and inventor respectively, Reyes was an average kid when he was first thrust on his Hero's Journey. Through his connection to an alien device known as the "reach scarab," Jaime has been granted a wealth of technological powers. Jaime is also one of the most prominent Mexican-American heroes in the DC Universe, having gained a massive boost in popularity since his appearance on the hit show Young Justice.
