Introduction
Transformers Dog Names In Pop Culture
Just like a Terran dog, Servo is incredibly loyal to his master (the Rescue Bot High Tide, in case you were wondering) and he's very friendly to both men and machines. Servo has been described as being " a cross between a Schnauzer and a toolbox" by the Autobot Chase, which is quite an apt description of the mechanical mutt; while most Cybertronians typically only transform between a humanoid form and a vehicular alternative form, Servo's unique abilities allow him to transform into a vast array of tools and utility items. This ability perfectly complements the Rescue Bots' primary objective of aiding their human partners, who are all civil servants.
While Servo expressly acts like a dog, there are other Cybertronians who have a canine form as their alt mode, as opposed to having a vehicular alt mode like their contemporaries. Take the Generation 1 Decepticon Weirdwolf, for instance; while Servo doesn't talk, Weirdwolf can't seem to ever stop talking. Weirdwolf, true to his name, has a very weird manner of speaking that largely comes off as pure, unintelligible nonsense to others. Despite this, or perhaps because of it, Weirdwolf is no less a fearsome combatant on the battlefield; in the same way how Weirdwolf's strange speaking pattern tends to throw others off, so too does his strange fighting style.
On the other end of the spectrum, we have Snarl. Often called Fangwolf instead, Snarl is an Autobot from the verdant Jungle Planet, Animatron. Snarl was once the best friend of the infamous Decepticon Scourge, long before either of them had nailed their flags to the mast, when they were training under the watchful eye of the warrior turned pacifist, Backstop. Though Snarl became crestfallen when his old friend joined the ranks of the Decepticons, he also became hardened and joined the Autobots in order to even the score.
Transformers Dog Name Considerations
But the names of leaders of the two warring factions within the Transformers universe aren't the only aliases to consider; Bumblebee, Iron Hide, Jazz, Prowl, Ratchet, and Wheeljack are just some of the brave Autobots who initially fought at Optimus Prime's side when the series was in its infancy. Conversely, Starscream, Soundwave, Shockwave, Thundercracker, Rumble, Laserbeak, and Ravage all fought alongside Megatron with the hopes of extinguishing the Autobot resistance once and for all. There are hundreds of other awesome bots to consider naming your dog after, so be sure to choose wisely. Consider their coloring; a grey or black and white dog may suit the name Jazz or Prowl. As for character, a feisty canine will fit any Transformers name well.
