Boruto Inspired Dog Names

For a Ninja, anything and anyone can be a weapon - an instrument of combat and an extension of one's will. Throwing stars, short swords, kunai daggers - these are all conventional weapons that we've all likely seen in movies and TV shows numerous times. But both Naruto and Boruto, an object as simple and plain as a piece of paper can be turned into a weapon. Using spiritual energy called Chakra, a Ninja is able to manipulate the world around them in a myriad of creative and deadly ways. Ninja can use Chakra to enhance their own physical abilities - making their skin as hard and durable as stone or manipulating their weight and mass. It's through techniques like these that our Featured Famous Boruto Dog, Akamaru, handles business.

For longtime fans of Naruto, the name Akamaru ought to ring a bell - it belongs to the dog of Kiba Inuzuka from the first series. Akamaru and Kiba are thick as thieves, essentially never being depicted without one another. Akamaru was given to Kiba by his Mother Tsume - a wild woman who fights, side-by-side, with her own canine companion, Kuromaru. Kiba and Akamaru have trained together since childhood, becoming a two-man fighting force that can give any other high level ninjas a run for their money. It's actually their close bond that's allowed Akamaru and his master to develop a slew of unique moves and techniques.

Kiba and Akamaru are famous for fighting in tandem with one another. By channeling his Chakra through Akamaru, Kiba is essentially able to weaponize his dog in the same way that other Ninja can weaponize stones and leaves. Kiba can use his Chakra to make Akamaru's fur razor sharp as well as increase the dog's size and musculature tenfold. Beyond those abilities, Kiba is able to transform Akamaru into an exact clone of himself! This gives the duo an almost unparalleled tactical advantage, lending credence to the claim that two heads are better than one.

As of this writing, Akamaru and Kiba have made a few appearances in Boruto. Kiba has encountered the Boruto and his friends while traversing their village, showing himself to be much more level headed and even tempered. Akamaru, on the other hand, largely hasn't changed one bit; the dog is always laying around and sleeping like a log. At the moment, Kiba has yet to have any children with his wife Tamaki. Should the two decide to raise any children, you can bet that Akamaru will be there to act as the kid's guardian.
