While there aren't any prominent dogs from the Die Hard franchise that could be chosen for this article's Spotlight section, there are a few dogs in real life named Bruce that have all done some pretty incredible things that exemplify the heroism John McClane has become known for. Starting off, we have a dog appropriately named Bruce Wayne, after Batman's alter ego. Back in 2016, a young couple was watching TV in their home when all of a sudden their young Rottweiler Beagle hybrid puppy started yelping frantically. Ryan Bickford ran downstairs to check on his puppy when he realized that a few faulty lights on his and his girlfriend's Christmas tree had set the tree ablaze. Ryan and his girlfriend, Amanda Zapp, picked Bruce up and ran outside of their now blazing home. When the flames subsided, most of their home and possessions were burned to a crisp. However, thanks to Bruce's persistent barking, the couple was able to save themselves, Bruce Wayne (the Rottweiler/Beagle mix) and their other four pets in the end. If it's any consolation, the couple did have Renter's Insurance on their home so they were able to get back on their feet in a relatively timely manner.

For the more scientifically inclined readers out there, you may be interested in hearing about a long haired Chihuahua from Bel Air, also named Bruce Wayne of all things, who's one of the first pets to have ever been successfully cloned. The story goes that a woman by the name of Meesha Kauffman, who lives in Texas, paid ViaGen, an animal cloning company, a whopping $50,000 to clone her beloved dog so that she'd always have her dog by her side in some form or another. ViaGen was successful in cloning 5 copies of Bruce, all of whom looked exactly like their genetic donor to a T.

Lastly, we have a dog who was a character from Comedy Central's short-lived sketch variety show Important Things with Demetri Martin. First airing all the way back on February 11th, 2009 and running all the way up until April 15th, 2010, the show featured a number of eccentric characters who each had a set of very particular quirks. Bruce was actually one of the more tame characters featured on the show, as his quirk involved him attempting to cheer others up by dressing up in hilarious costumes or by doing something fairly silly. Bruce would do this when characters were languishing over a loss, or if characters were simply having a bad go of things, without fail.
