This skill is what helped him find his forever home. Radcliffe was part of an organization that pairs service dogs with a person who has specific needs. While many people may associate service dogs with helping people who are deaf or blind, service dogs help so many more people than that limited pool. Having a wide array of people who benefit from owning a service dog means that it can be difficult to pair a pup with the correct person. The dog needs to be able to adjust to that person's needs and help to the best of their abilities. Radcliffe is paired with, David, who has been suffering from multiple sclerosis (MS) since 1988. 

David was struggling to go through day to day life and was exhausted by the end of the day. Then, he was matched with Radcliffe, a dog who loved to help others and could assist David in simple daily tasks. David and Radcliffe went through a two-week training program where they learned how to work with each other. After the training, Radcliffe moved in with David and started helping make his life easier from day one. 

David said that his MS made him frequently drop things and bending to pick them up was not easy. However, Radcliffe immediately picks up anything David drops. David said that this simple helpful task makes him have more energy each day to complete other daily living tasks on his own. David also is enjoying Radcliffe's company as a dog stating that the pup is smart, loving and a fantastic companion. Programs that pair pups with those in need are extremely beneficial and Radcliffe and David were both lucky to be able to find each other!
