Dog Names Ending in ga

Dawa and Tiga did love the outdoors however and the duo would hike frequently together. One morning, Dawa and Tiga were out snowshoeing Brown's Peak in Colorado when the trip took a turn for the worse. The snow near the top of the mountain began to break loose causing an avalanche to crash down the mountainside. Dawa's body was later found but there was no sign of Tiga. 

A few days after the avalanche when the snow had settled safely into place and was no longer considered dangerous, a group of skiers along with another dog set out to search for Tiga. The team took a sled with them in case they had to pull Tiga's body back down the mountain. Yet the search went on for 4 hours with no sign of Tiga. The team used poles to dig through the 600-foot wide area of snow that the avalanche had dumped but had no luck. They hung a prayer flag around the tree near where Dawa's body had been found and started to ski back down the mountain. 

The team was quiet and sad that their search had no results and they were all quiet as they skied toward the trailhead. However, standing there at the entrance to the trail they saw a Bernese Mountain dog, sitting peacefully, watching as the team approached. The group called out Tiga's name but the dog immediately retreated into the forest. The group waited, calling the dog's name over and over and eventually the pup returned. They check the tags and sure enough, it was Tiga!

Tiga was practically unharmed besides a slight limp with her back leg. She had survived the avalanche and the next eight days on the mountain, a miracle that no one expected. Tiga was picked up by Dawa's widow and returned to her home in India. While the avalanche was a very tragic event, it did show that even dogs who are pets can turn to their heritage to survive in the wilderness.
