Dog Names Meaning Lion

 While Simba in the movie The Lion King is, of course, a lion, the name Simba would be perfect for a dog as well. In fact, it is the name that many have used, including the famous guard of the Orlando Magic basketball team, Evan Fournier. If you are familiar with basketball, you have likely heard of Fournier. However, for those who are a little less familiar, his story is quite inspiring. After growing up in France, Fournier was signed to play on the Denver Nugget's basketball team. He moved to the United States with only his wife, Laura, and their dog Simba. Fournier had adopted Simba when he was a puppy and there was no way that a move across the world would prevent him from being with his dog! Simba had to go too!

Simba and Laura were Fournier's only source of comfort when he began his professional basketball career as he was in a foreign place and was unable to speak the language of his fellow teammates. Luckily, he would go home to Simba every night and have that comfort that only a dog can offer! To this day, five years into his basketball career, Simba has been by Fournier's side. After a few moves to new teams, Fournier still has the security of his dog when he goes home, something that he surely relies on!
