Miniature American Shepherd Dog Names

Gina DiNardo is a spokeswoman for the American Kennel Club and says that this breed is quickly gaining popularity in NYC. It's easy to see why these dogs are so appealing. They're like a big, country dog reduced down to city-sized. They look completely different from the toy Poodles and tiny Chihuahuas of New York City. In fact, they look very much like small Australian Shepherds.  DiNardo said these dogs are very active and if you'd rather have a Yorkie then you aren't someone who wants to go running with your dog.

That's exactly why Perin and Levin decided to go with a Miniature American Shepherd. They are an active couple and wanted a dog who would enjoy participating in their active lifestyle. They traveled all the way to Oklahoma to bring Izzy to her new home in New York. Izzy settled in like a champ and is now a real city dog.

Of course, all Miniature American Shepherds aren't as lucky as Izzy and end up in comfy apartments. In Baker County, Florida, 15 Miniature American Shepherds were recently found outside in cages. It is suspected they were used in a puppy mill. In many puppy mills, the mother and father are kept caged for their entire lives. 

The dogs were covered in fleas and infested with fleas. One animal control worker said you could see fleas dropping off the dogs by the thousands after their first flea treatment. Alas, this is one of the sad sides of the booming popularity of a certain breed of dog. Unscrupulous breeders use the dogs to cash in on their desirability and. unfortunately, it's the dogs who pay the price.
