Rappers Inspired Dog Names

One of the most famous dogs in the world is undoubtedly the lovely little beagle Snoopy, best friend to Charlie Brown from the comic strips Peanuts. Snoopy first appeared back in 1950, and instantly became the most popular and the most noticeable character in the comics, even more popular than the main character, his owner Charlie. Snoopy is a lovely dog and a very good boy, who seems to always live in his fantasies, imagining his life as an author, a student, and most famously, a pilot often seen wearing a flying helmet and goggles. 

Snoopy is also a cynical doggo, often making fun of Charlie Brown, but overall, he loves his family and friends, and shows immense loyalty to his owner. Snoopy, as we said, likes to daydream. Often he pretends to be famous and successful, but his success is hindered by his imaginary enemy called the Red Barron. Snoopy does not speak, so the humans don’t know about his incredible intelligence and fantasies, which often frustrates him. 

His relationship with his owner and the main protagonist Charlie Brown is an interesting one. Snoopy makes fun of Charlie, often forgetting his name and calling him “that round-headed kid,” disrespecting him almost all the time, and running into conflicts. However, he is utterly loyal to him. He loves Charlie and readily follows him during his walks and adventures. He helps Charlie when needed, and he is always the first in line to defend him and his honor. 

His best friend is a little yellow bird called Woodstock who always hangs around his house. Somehow, the bird and Snoopy understand each other perfectly, even though they are totally different species, and their friendship is one of the most iconic relationships in comic and animation history. 

The adorable Snoopy also shares a name with another interesting character, the famous American rapper Snoop Dogg. Snoop was discovered by Dr. Dre back in 1992, and Dre even produced his first album, the legendary Doggystyle. Snoop kept his dog theme by naming the second album The Doggfather, his eleventh album called Doggumentary, a variety show Dogg After Dark, and even a comedy show called Doggy Fizzle Televizzle. Evidently, the man is a huge fan of dogs! He picked his name because his nickname in childhood was Snoopy, as he reminded everyone of the lovable character from the Peanuts series.
