The Hangover Inspired Dog Names

Cooper was born with something called short spine syndrome which literally means he has a half of a spine. Due to inbreeding, his vertebrae are fused and compressed making it half the length it should be. Most dogs with this condition are euthanized but Cooper was just abandoned later to be found in a police raid of what was believed to be a puppy mill. The police found Cooper and brought him to a shelter.

Cooper's happy demeanor caught the eye of a woman named Elly who found it heartbreaking that Cooper was abandoned because of his looks. Elly adopted Cooper and has been tending to the pup's every need. Cooper had to undergo surgery to help him go to the bathroom easier and he also fractured a bone after a nasty fall but Elly helped him through it all! 

Since it hurts Cooper to be on a hard surface for too long, Elly makes sure he has lots of space on the couch to hang out. When Cooper wants to look behind him, he literally has to rotate his whole body as he essentially lacks a neck to turn. Little things like this made adjusting to life with Cooper a challenge but Elly says it has been amazing - Cooper is one of the happiest dogs around!

Cooper went from being abandoned to being part of a family (with two other dogs!) and his life couldn't be better. With owners who love him just as he is and now a little bit of internet fame, he certainly is living a happy life! 

Cooper is also the name of a therapy dog in Orange County, Florida who helps firefighters to de-stress. Cooper is a trained therapy dog whose soothing demeanor has been shown to help people calm down in difficult situations Cooper visits the firehouse regularly with his owner and is at the disposal of whoever needs some good one on one time with the pup. The firefighters say Cooper's visits definitely help and they love seeing the pup walk through the door!
