Ulysses Book Inspired Dog Names

Vincent Lynch is a notable character in Ulysses, one of James Joyce’s most important works. He is described as a good friend of Stephen Dedalus and a medical student that hangs out with other students in the chapter called Oxen of the Sun. He works in the National Maternity Hospital where he jokes around with other doctors and interns, being charming and witty. He also criticizes Stephen Dedalus for being too earnest and for his incredible ambition. One night, Stephen and Vincent go out together in Nighttown. He takes Stephen to a brothel; however, he grows impatient because of Stephen’s inebriation and leaves him behind in the Bella Cohen’s brothel, with little money and no idea how to get back home. He is seen as treacherous at times since ultimately, the only person he cares about is himself. 

However, even though Vincent is not the most positive character in the world, he has a sweet name! So, there is coincidentally a dog in this world that bears the same name, and it is Vincent, the lovely doggo from the TV series Lost. The adorable star of the show is the only dog that appears during all the six seasons, and he is also the sole non-human survivor of the horrific Oceanic Flight 815. The time he spent on the cursed island was packed with adventures, mysteries, and detective work that it is quite a shame dear old Vincent is not a human who can write, as he could have written a fantastic book that could stand shoulder to shoulder with other adventures of Robinson Crusoe, Gulliver, and other famous adventurers washed ashore on a deserted island.

Vincent, the kind-hearted pup, became best friends with Walt, another survivor, a boy who was left stranded with his dad and had to grow up in the harsh conditions of the tropical island in the South Pacific Ocean. Vincent often gets lost in the big jungle, forcing Walt to go looking for him and getting in trouble in the meantime. But Vincent is always there to protect his best friend from various perils and not only that, but he also took on the role of the protector of the entire camp! One time, he saved everyone by barking loudly when the wild boars came too close to the people in the camp! He was also the one who managed to find the key to the DHARMA van, chained to a rabbit’s foot he found in the jungle, something that humans could never do themselves!
